I think in some respects, this is a make or break season for Chytil. He doesn't have to set the world on fire, but he needs to show substantial improvement IMO.
As for people saying he needs a vet, I dunno. I agree the line that Tommy proposed might not be the best fit, but Chytil has now played 150 NHL games or so. He's a Vet. At some point he needs to be able to stand out on his own. He's still really young and raw, but you can't really use inexperience anymomre |

Connor McDavid will be a Ranger. Strome, Chytil, De Angelo, Kakko, Trouba with Shesterkin and both the Rangers' 1st round picks. Rangers will sign Pietrangelo, Holtby and Hoffman as UFA'S.

He also needs to out on some muscle. He'll be fine. This will be his 2nd full season. Ball in his hands |

From the previous blog, had no idea there was a new one posted:
The Yotes dont have a 1st, 2nd or 3rd round pick in this years draft. As far as I see it, we can probably get a 2nd round pick for Strome and atleast a 2nd round pick for Georgiev. We could put them on the map in every round they lost in this years draft in a trade for Chychrun for LHD. |

I for sure agree on that first point. I think he will be fine too, I just think he needs to get at least 35-40 points this year or at least show improvement on faceoffs.
It's a little disingenuous because those guys were allowed to incubate a little bit longer so to speak, but Miller and Hayes made pretty decent jumps with similar experience comparatively.

As far as Chytil goes, so far I havent seen anything from him to have nearly as much confidence as many here that he can be a 2C. He needs to improve defensively and on faceoffs before I would tag him as worthy for 2C. |

I'll admit I can be horrible at gauging trade value. If I was going to trade Chychurun, it might be the 3 round picks plus a middling guy like Tarmo or Roberson.

Matthew Robertson? I think the Rangers view him as far from middling. He'll also be the right ELC contract at the right time as these other guys start to get paid. |

Maybe middling isn't quite the right word, but I think he's for sure below guys like Miller and Nils. He had a pretty impressive season last year for sure. I think someone like him might be an odd man out though. I'm really high on Tarmo, he's just so smooth, I could argue at best Robertson is our 4th best LD.

That's fair. I like Tarmo too and would like to see him get a chance to play. The worry with him is injuries.
Based on timing and contracts, I can see where in a few years, it's Miller, Lindgren, Robertson with Jones as the prospect in waiting. Good problem to have though and they'll have to make a couple of trades just based on # of prospects and cap, so someone will go that we're projecting to be in the lineup.

that's why I think if we pick like 22nd-24th, taking another one of those kind of guys on the left side of the blueline like Kaiden Guhle or William Wallinder, literally the most boring thing we could do
I'd prefer trading down and picking up an extra 2nd rounder than sticking at this pick and picking a LHD. |

You know what will happen.... all our left side guys will not pan out and we will all say in 5 years why the hell didn't we pick "whoever" because they are now a star defenseman on another team. |

Right now, all Im thinking is I want to take advantage of Panarin and Zib while we have them in their prime. |

I just don't feel comfortable trading for guys who are gonna be UFA's
especially this coming season, who knows if it will be another one that's off the rails
Brodin is another guy, if the trade comes with an extension, I'm all for it, like I am with RNH or Danault
gotta come with a signed extension |

Control and cost certainty is a must. This is a deep draft and no need to give up prospects on ELCs for 1 year of someone during a season where the team isn't considered a contender |

Completely agree. Without a 2nd rounder it may be hard to move up, but I'd prefer them to slide up 4 or 5 spots and take a top 15 guy who dropped a bit than take a dman.
You also know that with a few extra picks in this draft, they're taking at least 2 goalies. I just hope it's 4th round and down and not with any of their first 4 picks.

I dont care what they do with 6th and 7th round picks, take all the goalies they want
but yeah totally agree, higher than that will annoy the piss out of me |

If the evaluators are right and this is like a 2015 draft, the Rangers are going to have the opportunity to get a really really good player with that 2nd pick. That's an ELC contract they're going to need in 3 years when they are legit contenders. |
