Welp, we'll always have the warm glow of the second period fluke goal to get us through the offseason. - MrBuzzcut
As I said, temporary reprieve of the fig leaf.
From what I saw, Isles were laying back, and we were sending the 3rd forward in deep and our D was pinching. We were completely selling out. The counterattack was just a matter of time and we never scored to get ahead. |

To be fair, Pageau has a 3.1mill cap hit and Grant has 700k.
I dont think we could have added Pageau.
Now, if you want to point to the poor overall cap management by Fletch then you have a point. - MBFlyerfan
You can not point to anything but poor cap management |

Well this series is in its vegetative state. Family and friends can come in and pay their respects before we yank the plug Tuesday night. |

This is probably for the better. The flyers have no business winning another game. |

He played the 3rd goal poorly though. He cannot allow two passes to go by him like that standing in no man's land. |

I mean considering we won our first playoff series in a long time and we had a season much better than anyone expected, I think we had a good year. Im sure most of us knew we werent going to win this series before it started. |

Huh? Isles were the underdogs. Including w/ the bookies. |

Elliot got outplayed. Not blaming him for the loss but he could have stopped the breakaway.
Provy blew the two on one coverage. |

Yeah I mean who could imagine them competing in a series they were favorite to win. This series is a (frank)ing disaster. |

Only thing I'll say is that they finally look they were playing up to their potential and clearly took it to the Isles for much of the game. Some of the guys they need to get going, had really good chances but got unlucky or stoned by Griess. Isles were really good on the counter attack and buried the couple of good chances they got. If the Flyers can come out and play like they did tonight they'll win Game 5. |

I think isles were fav, at least most hockey writers or Analysts picked Isles |

Big picture, yeah. But after the Tampa Bay win the expectations might have rose a little. |

What the media picks mean zero on who the favorite is. |

Whats worse is that we have no idea if we are close or far. Was it an offensive funk? Or Covid rust? Or new daddy syndrome? Or just not built for the playoffs? |

That is the problem. The flyers don’t play 60 minutes. Not that they dominate a whole game but the get buried in their zone and give up a ton of shots.
You can’t give up 18 shots in the first period. |
