All of those are reasons for sure but to say that Giroux is not a big reason why they're down 3-1, is simply not accurate. He's been bad. That simple.
- MJL

To be fair, he didn't say he wasn't a big reason, or an any-sized reason for that matter. Imho, he was implying he's not the -only- reason. That's a fair assessment, imho.

Agreed

So you don't believe that Giroux's lack of offensive production is a reason for why they're down 3-1 in the series?

To be fair in my opinion he is giving Giroux a pass there or at the very least minimizing his play as a reason why. I disagree strongly with that. His play and lack of production is among the top reasons why. You honestly think reading the comments that anyone solely blames Giroux for the series?

Okay, we differ on the implications of his post.

No, I don't think that anyone solely blames Giroux for the series.

While, Hextall tied up 15.25 mil in JVR and Voracek....neither is worth their cap hit.....amazing how Hextall continues to get a free pass. His average draFts are the reason why we are losing this series....while Tampa will go through the Islanders like hot butter in the ECF.

Over 8 mil no goals in 13 games. That’s not a rut that’s a trend with g in the playoffs. Can’t pay 8 mil for leadership alone in a cap world. Add that to 7 mil for do poop Jvr and 4 mil for no d ghost and 20% of cap is just wasted. Time to move on from them. The cap relief is the return if we can start rolling this roster over

Well he is top pairing dman so he should have Plenty of value no?

In no way shape or form is Ghost a #1 defenseman. Perhaps you were being sarcastic, but if not then you are at the least misguided. Ghost really is nothing more than a PP specialist and he's really not even that good at that anymore. We will agree that he needs a change of scenery cause it ain't happening here.

This is foolishness. No such thing.

Is it a sink cost yes or no?
Is it foolishness to expect him to be a top line player going forward ?

You can actually make Giroux's stats look worse than that if you want. How about 1 goal in his last 26 playoff games.....OOOOOF!!! The problem I see going forward is the diminishing value these players have. You think people are going to be lining up for Giroux,JVR and Ghost?? I have my doubts.

Yes, he should be expected to be a top line player moving forward. If he's not then the Flyers have a major issue. Same for Voracek.

So you think after what 13 years they are going to tell him we don’t want you anymore?

I myself do not believe that happens in anyway

How do you think players end up getting traded. The GM says this isn’t working out and we’re looking to move on.

And please, the coach has been here a year; the Gm has been here for a year. They’re owned by a cable/internet conglomerate. 13 years mean jack poop to the people making decisions.

Gostisbehere has had some injuries that have clearly hampered him. Reports are that he's finally stronger and has looked stronger. Maybe he can get his game back but he can't do that if he doesn't play. He should be playing.

Can always trade the player and contract. Teams need the cap to get to floor, still see value for their roster, many reason. It’s obvious at this point the return won’t be much at all. Cap world the relief to cap is prime thing all teams want. Vinny getting traded. Pronger contract traded. Prime example. The sooner the better

Your right he should be playing. But elsewhere. One trick pony doesn’t fit on this team. He’s not needed

Here’s a thought, Tuesday’s game should be postponed in protest for the systematic lack of showing up by our Captain. Come on Nhlpa make it happen
