thats just it though. that lineup is basically only two lines deep at even strength. However you cut it with Giroux at wing.

I would love to have Monahan on this team. Guy is like Coots but with added offense.

Right now it looks like the semitank from Hex, gave us mediocre players at best. Hart could be the exception. Frost look like a giant Turkey from HeX, same with JVR

You probably have a better hockey IQ than me, so I will not debate the eye test. Plus, its subjective.

What advanced stats do you mean? Don't point out raw stats. Point out relative to rest of team, and relative to Braun-Ghost in this series.

I’d sit Braun as Ghost/Hagg have played better than Ghost/Braun. You also have to factor in the following:

Ghost has a much better chance of making that one play that might lead to a goal and he provides another good option for the pp and any 4 on 4 situations.

AV’s reluctance to sit Braun because he has “veteran experience” is just foolhardy.

There is an elephant in the room here, and it might be too early to point it out because we are only down by 1 game.

During the Hextall years, we ranged from mediocre to sucky, and generally drafted well. I personally thought we should have sucked more and guys like Filippula and JVR should not have been signed but whatever. I understand lot of the Flyers base is dead set against tanking.

When Hextall was fired, there was a school of thought that the plug was pulled too early, and the team was not ready to compete yet. The largely magical regular season completely changed that, and we thought that the team was actually a lot closer than what we thought.

Playoff are a completely different beast from regular season and the first is all that matters, really. What if it has nothing to do with being dads and being rusty and what if Hextall was correct and the plug was pulled too early?

I think maybe I’d rather see Ghost with Friedman. Really if they don’t manage to play less defense and take it to them, it won’t make a big difference. Fresh legs that didn’t play last night could help though.

If you like, I can expand the domain: we should have traded Voracek for prospects at that stage instead of giving him a huge contract.

Yea not sure why he would ever be mentioned, a small undersized forward, that’s what we want to get us over the hump in playoff hockey? He’s not Danny B and is a guy that struggles in the playoffs as is.

Do that and maybe end up like the leafs? Or Edmonton? There is no right way to do it. I don’t think the flyers are in a bad spot, had the season not gone the way it has and finished normally I think we would be doing quite well.
