As well as these guys are playing right now it will be interesting to see how guys like Olliver, Bellows, MDC, and Holmstrom find a way into the line-up in the future. It will not be easy.. - niteislander
I believe that’s a good thing? |

It’s because they play as a team and all the pieces fit and know their job and are executing. - nyisles7
Amen..
fun to listen to these "expert analysts" who have clearly not watched the Islander's at all try and figure them out. |

They'll likely have to work their way up from bottom-six roles, where there will definitely be some space in the next few years.
Good chance Martin is gone after this playoff run. Have to imagine Brassard and, almost certainly, Moonspackle get lumped into that category as well. That'll be MDC's shot to be a lineup regular and he'll have to compete with Ross Johnston for that 4th line LW spot. More likely, they platoon it and Johnson goes in against heavier teams.
The Cizikas conundrum will be an interesting one the season after that. Valuable player but on the wrong side of 30 and has missed significant time in each of the last 4 seasons.
Clutterbuck will likely depart the following season.
There will be space over the coming years, but they'll have to prove they belong. |

I agree that Brassard and Kuhnhackl are gone but think that MM gets a contract. He will not get $2.5 .. but I could see them signing him to a1 or 2 year $1.5 deal. I do think Johnston could take his place easily but I can't imagine they let that line break up.. (I would be fine if he left but I think they value him in the room more than we think). If they do let MM walk I could see Leo moving down and having Johnston, Bellow, Whalstrom, MDC all battle for those 2 wings on JGP's line.

Maybe Martin doesn't want to uproot his new family and takes a super-cheap ($1M or less) deal to stick around, but I don't think there's any sort of guarantee there. At a minimal deal it's fine, but he can't get a raise or even stay at the same pay. |

I can see where the Isles let him walk and he signs with the Rangers or Devils to help protect some of the younger kids, except Johnston would absolutely destroy Martin in a fight which would be tough to watch lol

Entirely possible. Boomer would probably make a mess in his pants if Martin signed with the Rangers |

Agree with him going to The Rags or Devils. Vet with PO experience and good in the locker room and a great example for the kids.
Gonna be interesting to see what Lou decides to do with MM. |

I have a feeling Lou tries to sign him. I hope I'm wrong but Lou obviously likes Martin.
That fourth line isn't anything like it was a few years ago. Let Martin walk. |

Do you think Trotz needs to shake up the lines if they move to the ECF to get the offense going JS? - nyisles7
you've worked really hard at this, so here's your reward.
I don't know J.....you don't know JS.

I'm fairly sure the Ritalin Kid is trying to get me to say "I don't know JS" (Jack Sh!t).
Have you seen his Frook routine? Hilarious. Read his alt 'Frook_you" until his meds wear off.
