Demko or Markstrom, I don’t think it matters. I’m sticking with my guy 4-1 Vegas. I think their bizarre loss to SJ last year has them focused (like Tampa in the East). This is a team that doesn’t want to give any hope to their opponent.

I went with a 4-3 series in our favour at the start. It ain’t looking good lol

I think the Canucks might squeeze out a victory tonight but I don't see them winning 3 in a row against Vegas.

Wondering what the payout odds are in Vegas if we did?

This coming offseason being so much shorter than the past will see many changes league wide. Predicting the most fun we will experience given the above & covid cap & the looming e-draft ramifications.

Yes it will change as changes occur lol

As for the fanbases mood IDGAF tbh 😂

- Nighthawk

Do you really think the next season starts in December? I don't see the border opening anytime soon. I think there is a strong chance of no season.

It's gonna be fun for sure.

I guess I should have said the mood on HB rather than the fanbase

That’s a good question. I don’t see the border opening either. My best guess is more bubble cities might be the plan. Say 1 per division maybe? One thing I’m fairly certain of is the league & the PA will do everything possible to play a season. What form that takes who knows.

I think it's a distinct possibility as well. The hub system in several cities across Canada could work in theory, but it would be costly.

Something like the current 4 negative tests in 4 days, head into a hub, play 8 or 9 games across 2 weeks, head home. Cycle groups of 4-6 teams in and out. Probably have to do something on the order of a 40/50 game season, but I could see it working.

The enormous cost of staff running the hubs coupled with no ticket revenue is obviously a big hurdle, but maybe you could start allowing people in at a much lower capacity?

Imo it's all dependent on how fall goes in terms of a 2nd wave, etc.

I always go to capfriendly & use the ACGM to run my roster ideas. It’s the simplest & most clear way to see the big picture. It’s too difficult to project the ins & outs if not.
- Nighthawk

I've done the ACGM too. The one that makes sense to me is keeping Ferland on LTIR. Then LE cap I do LTIR. But he says he wants to keep playing. So why suggest ATM which they don't have as an option. Then everyone fits and can add one ELC forward and one ELC defender not re-signing Fatty.

On costs it’s probably cheaper if hubs vs travel expenses. Injury wise players can have more time to rest & heal.

Hubs could be Edmonton Winnipeg Toronto Montreal. Until the US gets their turd together no need to consider US hubs. I could be wrong but there isn’t much reason to be optimistic at this point. That could change at any time & the Fed could relax on travel by December.

Players are not going to want to be separated from their families for 6-8 months in a hub city and it won't be a big draw only watching division rivals in empty arenas. I'm sure the NHL has no desire to continue playing in empty venues, either.

I doubt it. If they have to they'll bring it all into Canada.

A Vegas bubble has intrigue to me if they have the Casino on lockdown. 4 hockey teams on an off night having beers and gambling. Can't wait for the headlines.

Say you are 100% correct...

Blowing off an entire season would be the alternative. Players considering that would mean many would suffer in other ways. Lastly fans could be in the stands far sooner than what would be prudent if in the US.

Clearly you didn't read my post. You can schedule in a way that there are games on TV most nights, yet players only need to be away from home for ~2 weeks every 2 months. In a shortened season you could total that up to roughly 2.5/3 months away in total spread across the season, which is probably less than they would normally be away for.

If he wants I can start giving insightful analysis of all his posts. I don't think he wants that though.

You don't even know who the best player in the league is....

How you gonna manage that?

Maybe they'll compress the schedule with little travel and give time off for family? Just an idea. I still think they should shorten the season substantially.

You were wrong about this post season happening. The same factors will be in place for new season to go forward.

The plans are in place that they can start in 4 hubs and rotate among each other. What they are keeping fluid is where and if some can seat fans. Worst case scenario they keep it all in Canada locked down until things get under control sometime in 2021.

Players can opt out but then they don't get paid. That's the reality many people face with altered conditions in a Covid world.

In a 6 month season players are away from family up to 1/2 of it anyways. Some don’t even have families as in a wife & kids. If nothing else eastern based teams lose their advantage of less travel.
