Who's your RH D that you are targeting in this scenario?
- CallmeTiny

Demko/JV for Pesce 24yrs 4m til 2023/24?

Allows cap savings if Tanev wants too much or walks. Also if Tanev signs a short Covid deal.

Edler Myers
OJ/Rathbone ???

So how many more JV and Demko trade scenarios will get posted (not directed at you) after JV scores series winning goal with Demko shutting the door the other way?

I had us 3-2. Who had 3-1?

I had 4-2 Nucks. Why did Horvat get screwed on his goal?

He was responding to someone saying they thought Demko was over-rated, so once again you look like the whiner.

Goldobin and Podkolzin's season start today . Goldy had a beautiful bar down goal in the pre-season. He still remains a Canuck Prospect until the end of the year

I was just listening that stupid fawk Buttkiss on the radio and he said "up to now Demko has been a huge disappointment in Vancouver...." - Based on WHAT??

Other than Donnie (who's opinion is notoriously wrong ) does anyone see how that's justifiable or true?

If you look around the league most starting goalies follow the same route in terms of development - 1-2 years post draft they play either College,Junior or European leagues - then 1-2 years AHL - then they slowly over the course of 1-2 years begin backup duty -20-35 starts and then by D+4/5/6 they're a starter if everything goes well/according to plan. There are outliers like Bobrovsky, Price, Hart that are good enough to skip some steps but it's rare. Look at someone like Hellebuyck, he had a very similar route (and numbers) along the way to Demko in terms of development. If Marky prices himself out of resigning I don't see any reason why Demko won't be a quality starter in the future.

In terms of the "Demko looks shaky" comments - obviously! what first year backup goalie wouldn't from time to time? You have to be realistic about things. Looking back there's been maybe 4-5 games out of the 27 starts that he got lit up, other than that he and his numbers are solid. At some point every current starter had to be given a shot.

Huge disappointment ? Probably not.

Reliable ? Probably not.

Someone said the day I think it was Vintsy that goalies are a funny group. Demko has shown in the past he can be rattled early but then after will settle in and more than a few times , by that time is too late.

I think most here would like a goalie tandem of Demko Marky but because of the E Draft is very slim chance that it will happen. I think that is the bigger picture why fans here don't want to get attached to Demko.

I’d be open to a Demko trade, assuming Markstrom resigns for a reasonable $ / term. Maybe wait until the cut-off before having to expose a goaltender in the Seattle expansion draft?

JV has shown, in the three series, that he is still “potential” and not an impactful contributor. In my opinion, he has played himself out of a role and I’d be happy to see him moved in order to strengthen our RHD. I don’t see how scoring a series-winning goal changes that, unless he massively steps up for the next two games and shows something more than he has.

For anyone wanting to watch the Podkolzin game

heres the link:

Choose the Aliez or wstream link - it's usually the safest - but you might have to fight thru some pop ups!!

Canadiens acquire Jake Allen and a 7th-round pick in 2022 from the Blues in return for a 3rd- and 7th-round pick in 2020.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I said yesterday Habs were looking for a goalie. Lots of speculation they want to move Price.

I get that.
I imagine Juolevi will make the team next year and also later on Podkolzen . That will give you a pretty young line up already so I don't mind banking a few picks . I would want to use the 2021 picks instead as asset management.

Either way.

- VANTEL

I think Juolevi will be on the team, as well as Rathbone potentially as a number 7. Hoglander has a chance to be on the third line (probably after spending a couple months in the AHL), with PodK coming the year after.

What I'd love to see the Canucks do this offseason..:

- Package Jake (with a pick or prospect or Roussel) for a solid young RHD
- Trade Sutter for a low pick (a team like Edmonton or Winnipeg that need C depth)
- Somehow get rid of Loui
- Re-sign Tanev, Toffoli, and Leivo
- Decide between Marky and Demko, and trade Demko if it's Marky

Miller - EP - Boeser
Pearson - Bo - Toffoli
Rous/Hoglander - Gaud - Leivo
Motte - Beags - MacEwen

Hughes - Tanev
Edler - RHD
Juolevi - Myers

I think you are close . There are countless possibilities . I can't see Hughes OJ and Rathbone all LHD though.

Toffoli EP JTM
Pearson Bo Boeser
Motte Sutter Leivo
Lind Gauds /Beagle / Zack

Hughes Tanev
Edler McAvoy
OJ Myers
Benn

Gone Loui

Traded Jake Demko for McAvoy (or similar) or draft picks

Roussel Tryamkin Sven to MTL for anything

this seems reasonable and i could go along with this. as with everything, the devil will be in the details but a solid plan.

With the Habs getting Jake Allen I am going to throw a wild pitch out there.

Montreal trades Max Domi and Carey Price to Pittsburg (who have no goalies under contract next year ) for Malkin and Murray or Jarry.
