A lot of chemistry in that bottom six.

Enough to have beaten the Cup champs and hang in there with the deepest team in the NHL.

Do you honestly see Price being moved? Domi maybe...
- LordHumungous

I think Price is untradable, contract is horrific

So was Luongo's but with retention and sweetners some GM can be desperate enough to pull a Bobrovsky investment.

8 years at $84 mill....can’t see anyone being that stupid to save MTL. That’s a franchise killer. If there is any team it would probably be PITTS. Would be a huge mistake to save MTL

We are getting destroyed in this series. It’s a miracle we are still alive

Well that was fun!

Not ready to move into offseason mode yet — life in the bubble continues.

With the Habs getting Jake Allen I am going to throw a wild pitch out there.

Montreal trades Max Domi and Carey Price to Pittsburg (who have no goalies under contract next year ) for Malkin and Murray or Jarry.

- VANTEL

I think they want to keep Jarry.

Yup.
Beagle is an embarrassment. It was fun watching Sutter fail on a beautiful set up. Roussel taking retaliatory penalties. Virtanen proving he was a waste of a top ten pick. The only one I would keep is Motte. Thanks Torts!

We for sure would have made gm 6 of the second round with Gaunce and Dowd...

lol it's all about having ammo to dump on Benning for the impending 'cap issues'. They truly believe that we'd be in the exact same spot in the 2nd round of the PO's vs a strong opponent with our bottom 6 making 880K each...

It doesn't matter that the club is winning with Beagle Sutter Eriksson Myers and Virtanen...it's all about how bad those contracts are not about the chemistry this club has put together in the room and on the ice.

I think Juolevi will be on the team, as well as Rathbone potentially as a number 7. Hoglander has a chance to be on the third line (probably after spending a couple months in the AHL), with PodK coming the year after.

What I'd love to see the Canucks do this offseason..:

- Package Jake (with a pick or prospect or Roussel) for a solid young RHD
- Trade Sutter for a low pick (a team like Edmonton or Winnipeg that need C depth)
- Somehow get rid of Loui
- Re-sign Tanev, Toffoli, and Leivo
- Decide between Marky and Demko, and trade Demko if it's Marky

Miller - EP - Boeser
Pearson - Bo - Toffoli
Rous/Hoglander - Gaud - Leivo
Motte - Beags - MacEwen

Hughes - Tanev
Edler - RHD
Juolevi - Myers
Rathbone

I was just listening that stupid fawk Buttkiss on the radio and he said "up to now Demko has been a huge disappointment in Vancouver...." - Based on WHAT??

Other than Donnie (who's opinion is notoriously wrong ) does anyone see how that's justifiable or true?

If you look around the league most starting goalies follow the same route in terms of development - 1-2 years post draft they play either College,Junior or European leagues - then 1-2 years AHL - then they slowly over the course of 1-2 years begin backup duty -20-35 starts and then by D+4/5/6 they're a starter if everything goes well/according to plan. There are outliers like Bobrovsky, Price, Hart that are good enough to skip some steps but it's rare. Look at someone like Hellebuyck, he had a very similar route (and numbers) along the way to Demko in terms of development. If Marky prices himself out of resigning I don't see any reason why Demko won't be a quality starter in the future.

In terms of the "Demko looks shaky" comments - obviously! what first year backup goalie wouldn't from time to time? You have to be realistic about things. Looking back there's been maybe 4-5 games out of the 27 starts that he got lit up, other than that he and his numbers are solid. At some point every current starter had to be given a shot.

Markstrom has been pretty stellar for 2 seasons now. Really hard for a young goalie to come in and consistently play to that standard. It's not like all he had to do was play well to win the job, Marky has been a top 10 goalie 2 years in a row.
