“Jacob Markstrom has faced 491 shots this post-season. That's 120 more pucks than the next goalie (Vasilevskiy - 371). Marky's been an absolute beast & has fought through it all with a solid 0.918 SV%. Pay this man #Canucks”
Interesting stat, jeez the Canucks are terrible defensively or they’re playing two really great teams? - Pacificgem
We have also played more games than most. Assume that includes the playin round ? |

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_teams_to_overcome_3%E2%80%931_series_deficits
"The Boston Red Sox of MLB and the Vancouver Canucks of NHL each overcame 3–1 deficits the most at three times, while the Washington Capitals of NHL blew 3–1 leads the most at five times, followed by the St. Louis Cardinals of MLB at four times (including twice in the World Series). Two teams have overcome 3–1 deficits multiple times in the single playoffs: the Kansas City Royals of MLB in 1985 and the Minnesota Wild of the NHL in 2003. Two teams have also overcome 3-1 deficits in a single playoffs only to have the favor returned to them: the Golden State Warriors of the NBA in 2016, and the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL in 2003" - Fidel
2003 was a wild one. Both Canucks and Wild won their quarterfinal series after being down 3-1. Then they met in semifinals and Wild came back to win that series against us after being down 3-1. Many say it was Bertuzzi’s trash talking that got the Wild players motivated and turned the tide.
Another fine moment in Canuck history.

Watching other games, seems like the Canucks have played two of the most physical teams in the playoffs. |

No, but I give the team massive props for holding their own against them all. They haven't wilted against it like I thought they might. |

I' m down for keeping that trend going to a game a 7
Now if only Canucks can get some f'n puck luck that every other team seems to get. That will help the effort in their game against the BORG. |

Colorado survives to play another day.
Hopefully Vancouver (and Philly) can do the same and extend some of these series. |

I assume Marky has played the most minutes by far. |

So if they can pull off a win in game 5, what do they do with the back to back 6&7?
Edit: I couldn’t sleep, therefore late post 😟 |

Do you mean would Vancouver start Demko in either game 6 or 7 if Vancouver went on the miracle 2 game winning streak?
Or is this a scheduling question? |

What I’m asking, is I’m not sure how the NHL assigns portions of salary cap to teams in cases where there is retained salary in a trade. Because actual salary and AAV are not often equal, does the NHL assign a proportional amount of salary cap, or is it dollar for dollar?
If the Canucks retain $1.0m and get charged 1.0m then it’s a $5.0m savings, but if $1.0m is 50% of the remaining salary and the NHL charges the Canucks with 50% of the remaining AAV then it’s only a savings of $3:0m. See what I’m saying? I just don’t know the answer. - 1970vintage
It's dollar for dollar. |

Whatever happens tonight, I say a pretty impressive season. Some good growth from Elias, Bo and Brock becoming a much better 2 way player.
I expect there will be some changes and won't be surprised if any of the following players aren't back next season, Demko, Gaudette, Roussel, Sutter, Beagle, Jake, Fat Burger, Stecher and hopefully Loui.
My prediction for tonight 4-2 Canucks.
Go Canucks Go. |

Colorado has a nice young defense, with Makar, Graves,Timmins getting in last night and Byram on his way.
Going to be a strong team for many years.
Also, having the best player in the world helps. |

Looking at Vancouver's D for the future I don't think you can have Hughes Juolevi and Rathbone all playing the left side. It is a skilled side but very soft. I think Canucks will need to chose between OJ and Rathbone.
I do like the idea of the idea of bringing is a guy like Polak Hamonic or even Borowieki on his off side to play with OJ this year. It would be a short term signing under 2 mil and 2 years
Hughes Tanev
Edler Myers
OJ Polak

A guy id like Benning to sign (unless tampa resigns) is Luke Schenn. Sure hes not fast, but if someone even tapped Hughes, Schenn was in there face. A trade id also like is Brandon Carlo from Boston, a package of Gaudette and Tryamkin could get close.

I think you forgot to add a couple picks going Boston's way.
With Chara retiring soon, I don't see Boston getting rid of Carlo. |

Yup, Canucks need something of a physical presence on defense, too bad Edmundson would be to costly,.
Would also like to see a more aggressive 3rd line centre, with some speed size and skill |

I didnt forget the picks, I was just saying Gaudette and Tryamkin is a good start for building a package for him. Him with Hughes would be solid though |

I like Luke Schenn. He had a good showing when he played for us. The idea of cheap and tough is better that Stecher IMO |

I was thinking Motte gets moved to the third line maybe with Lind . Bigger guys for the fourth like Zack and a cheap signing like Kyle Clifford for the fourth |
