I didnt forget the picks, I was just saying Gaudette and Tryamkin is a good start for building a package for him. Him with Hughes would be solid though

This is where you could add Rathbone a Boston Boy to the deal. I think Juolevi will be the better of the two

Yup, Canucks need something of a physical presence on defense, too bad Edmundson would be to costly,.
Would also like to see a more aggressive 3rd line centre, with some speed size and skill

- Reubenkincade

Might be to late because of how he performed in the playoffs, but at the deadline Minny was talking about a "fire sale" Eriksson Ek would be awesome for this core group.

I assume Marky has played the most minutes by far.

No he hasn’t, he’s second.

He looked like he tweaked his groin when he made that one save going one way and the guy shot the other way.

"I will not be shocked if it's Demko in net. And if he starts, that's a mammoth opportunity. And not just for Demko, but for the organization to get a sense of if he can be a big-game goalie, on a huge stage against a superior opponent"

It ridiculous to think he can jump in and play lights out when he hasn’t played in so long, it takes time for any player, goaltender or forward, to get your timing and reads perfected.

If he plays I hope he plays well, but I wouldn’t be shocked if he doesn’t.

Another thing Benning could look at this offseason is scouring the AHL for a really good fighter . Keep him on the Comets and when you play heavy teams like the Knights or Jets call him up like the way Calgary use to use Garnett Hathaway.

I think Demko can be rattled early . At least at this stage of his career.

So, the back to back had even more impact on the outcome.

Could go one of two ways if Demko starts. Either he'll let in 2 goals on the first 4 shots and be rattled the whole game, or he will stone Vegas completely and get in their heads. Let's hope he gets in their heads if he plays.

Many of the other teams have two options in net and exercise both of those options on back to back games, if the Canucks coaching and management didn't rely so heavily on Markstrom to get where they are they wouldn't be in this situation. Just saying!

He should be a #1 starter at this point but he's not in the right situation in Vancouver for that to happen, his situation is very similar to Corey Schneiders in that he's very talented but isn't getting the minutes he needs to perfect his game.

Much like when Markstrom first got the #1 role in Vancouver by default, he had holes in his game, the puck seemed to go right through him for a big man. Demo has similar issues, but IMO with minutes he'd get over that because he's really talented.

I sort of envision the above happening too (less the part where demko gets in vegas's head lol)

To be fair too, not really giving the kid a fair shake, having not played in a super long time then having to come in cold, in an elimination game, vs one of the best teams in the league.

Yeah he will get better with more minutes. He wont get it in Vancouver .

I think Montreal is looking for a backup so it might be a fit there or NJ

He's a Southern California kid, Los Angeles is looking to rebuild as Quick is getting up there in age, they also have a lot of picks, trade him to LA and sign Markstrom to a four year deal for 6 million per season....

He did play like 10 minutes other night, stopping all 5 shots he faced. So he actually has a shutout streak going...

If he can’t get minutes in Van it surely won’t be in Mon.

Demko for Rask
Let Marky walk

NJ and Ottawa looking for a 24 year old ready to be starter goaltender, NYR too, lots of options to send him somewhere to recoup draft picks.

When Demko first was playing after Markstrom was hurt, he wasnt the greatest. After a few games he was really playing solid, then the league shut down. At 24 Markstrom was a AHL goalie and couldnt even play in the NHL. Moral of the post I am hoping they give Demko the reigns next season, team needs scoring for the 6-7 mill Markstrom will be asking.

I'd be ok with either scenario, if they let Markstrom walk due to salary demands and play Demko, that's fine. If they re-sign Marky and trade Demko for picks, that's fine too.
