NJ and Ottawa looking for a 24 year old ready to be starter goaltender, NYR too, lots of options to send him somewhere to recoup draft picks. - Pacificgem
Rangers have 3 goalies, don’t think they are looking. NJ - Blackwood? Ottawa, maybe, I guess. Kings I think you could have something there.
Markstrom for Luongo, he comes out of retirement, no more cap recapture, wins a cup, Demko takes over |
|
|
|
I'd be ok with either scenario, if they let Markstrom walk due to salary demands and play Demko, that's fine. If they re-sign Marky and trade Demko for picks, that's fine too. - Pacificgem

Could go one of two ways if Demko starts. Either he'll let in 2 goals on the first 4 shots and be rattled the whole game, or he will stone Vegas completely and get in their heads. Let's hope he gets in their heads if he plays.
winky face thumbs up - LordHumungous
If he gets lit up, I hope he doesn't get the, "he's a bust, time to move on," treatment.
Not only are these playoffs an anomaly with respect to schedule etc, but judging a young tender thrown to the wolves is shortsighted.
Anyway, you can say that this would be the MO of the "whiners," but you'll find the cheerleaders turn hot/cold on a player even quicker. |

Colorado has a nice young defense, with Makar, Graves,Timmins getting in last night and Byram on his way.
Going to be a strong team for many years.

It's going to be an illuminating off-season. There are several serious player decisions that need to be made.
This offseason will be very important. Exciting times (on and off the ice.) Been a while since we could say that. |

Getting back to your Brandon Carlo proposal would Virtanen Demko Rathbone for Carlo Halak be too much / too little? No matter what proposal someone puts up someone hates it and some don't . |

With our 2021 pick being ours, I am full OK with Marky walking and giving Demko and Dominique a chance. Give Demko 45-50 starts and the other guys the rest. Let DiPietro get some games during injury. I think if we resign Tanev and upgrade Stetcher we will be fine without Marky. Less shots against and more for per game. Sutter can be traded for an asset, Same with Roussell. Use that to keep TT. I wonder if Ekblad can be available? |

I think Demko Domingue would be a horrible tandem and set the Canucks back about 10 spots.
I don't think with all the improvements the team made this year you want to go tinkering.

Whatever happens this offseason the canucks will undoubtedly have the expansion draft in mind. Id honestly be happy with signing markstrom to reasonable aav/term, trade jake and demko, re-sign toffoli/leivo/motte. |

Maybe upgrade Dom to give Demko some better back-up. But I think Demko can be a better goalie than Markstrom given time. Giving him a season of 50 games will surprise most IMO. |

McDavid didn’t make the second round. There are literally 240 players who are better, including Beagle.
Edit - wait, he didn’t even make the first round lol, that’s 480 better players... |

Just to stoke some Beagle/Sutter/Roussel/JV hate:
The Golden Knights have nine (5-4) points from their third and fourth lines in the series — including three goals from Alex Tuch — and the Canucks don’t even have an assist from their bottom-six players. It’s a critical stat. They need to take pressure off top players and the power play. |

With the amount of time the organization has invested in Marky and he has finally shown real-world improvements there is no way they let him walk. And I'd be OK with Demko as the 'guy' as well. |

lol an overwhelming 70% of all NHL players polled said that McDavid is BY FAR the best player in the league. Guess 7/10 actual NHL players are wrong and you anti-McDavid types are right...

But Canucks are not an elite team just quite yet. Nor were we given all kinds of gifted players and an abundance of picks to wheel and deal with. Benning has built a solid team to this point and will continue to improve. We did just win two rounds and that is not bad for a team that was not suppose to be here. So for what people think is a horrible bottom 6 we are still one of the final 7 teams still playing for the cup.
