9 assists in that stretch. Which is not nearly good enough. .38 ppg. Not going to get it done. - PLindbergh31
Yeah 32 going on 33, obvious signs of decline. Was never really considered a bonafide superstar in this league. But from what he's produced points wise and what hes contributed to this franchise through crap team after crap team, not a bad investment. I mean, the guy is slowing down from all the years of carrying this team on his back. We've been watching this team forever, we all know who he is. In his prime he was a sick playmaker who could maybe pot in 20 and set up skilled forwards while playing great D. But he never got it for the most part. We've been saying this for years, nothing new, dont know why we need to keep bashing him.

Twice he finished in the top 5 of Hart trophy voting. That's not being considered a bonafide superstar? Scoring 102 points in a season? |

Its all over but the shouting, as they say! The Islanders are jut a better team, their speed and skill are forcing the Flyers into bad mistakes and turnovers and the Islanders are burying their chances. I was particularly pissed at Hayes on that first goal, he had a chance to take the Islander player out against the boards and instead passively tried to poke the puck around him, allowing him to gain possession and make the pass in front for the first goal. Then Niskinen, who has been horrible this entire post season makes two bad pinches and the puck is in the back of the net. Once the Islanders get up on you in the 3rd, the game is over. Unlike the Flyers, the Islanders know how to shut a team down. Well, we won one playoff series, but we are no where close to competing for cup with this team, too slow, not enough skill, top players are not really top players compared to other top players in the league. I would love for the Flyers to unload Giroux and Voracek, use that money wisely on some better players and make Coots captain. |

I just saw the Pageau breakaway goal for the first time since it happened. What a horrid effort by Niskanen. |

No, absolutely I agree. But my argument is people keep trying to push him in to this upper echelon of the physical presence, goal scoring capabilities of many of the elite hockey players right now, past and present. I mean, if he was, well then, just score? |

Provy with another turnover.
Hate those high flips out of the zone. |

This is probably the softest philly team ever put together. I know hitting isn’t a big part of game anymore but Christ gotta hit a little during battles. Pathetic |

I prefer it over not clearing it at all, which happens way too often.

Part of the way the refs are calling the playoff games really helps the isles. They let most interference go away from the puck not allowing our forwards to reach the puck on passes or the cycle. Even if it’s called the same both ways it’s advsntage islanders. |
