I would only do a 1 year deal with Craw, Jordan did 1 year deals. with his history we cannot have another guy sepnd the whole season on LTIR next 21-22 shaw will probably already be on it. I would not buy out smith. we are going to have a even harder time being under the cap next year. shaw is not walking away this year. he wants to get paid. - kmw4631
If we’re taking Michael Jordan, weren’t the one year deals he signed to the tune of $30M or something?
Not quite the same things as one year for maybe $4M. I don’t see Crow taking anything less than a 2 year deal. |

Canucks win 2-1 to stave off elimination. Demko was solid in his NHL playoff debut. - DarthKane
Yeah and his performance puts them in a position where his re-up may tie him to the Karaken. because I dont think they pay their starter and him.

I mis spell with not intent.
and if I was into going after him, I would start on the supposedly quote that he profusely denied about there are are only steps and q's there.
We all can change, eh? I say about the strong advocate for the league in the social movement we are experiencing....

I tell you what except for the fact I need to know exactly how I keep their Cap hits down, but I welcome them here, for any defenseman on the roster. |

then let him go somewhere else. every team knows his age and history. I'm guessing even more then the public I just don't see who gives him 2 years. if I was him I would want 5 year deal LOL.. he has not played a full season since 16-17. the hawks cant afford 2-3 guys on LTIR in shaw, Dehaan, and Craw. with Craw next year are we are ST contender? with Craw on LTIR in 2 years means we have to trade a young guy to get under the cap which is exactly what we should not be doing. Im fine bringing him back but not at the EXP of a younger player. SAAD will be a UFA, Nylander and suter will be RFA. what if all three have good years. way better to have the flexibility to let Craw walk if he is hurt or bad and keep those guys then to have all 3 do 20+ goals and can only keep 1. the dehaan, shaw maata off season last year means you cannot go that way again. learn from your mistakes. gave up 2,3, kahun forling and Forsberg for 3 guys that are untradable more then likely we cant have a 4th guy. |

I agree Darth, but why the yelling, its not like we are 1 piece away, we are several, but those several pieces have to grow up - BetweenTheDots
I never meant to imply I want Keith to be traded. I said that he should not be traded next year. I mentioned after next season, just look at Keith's contract remaining, production, his age, and his value to the team.
I do not know what Keith will mean to the team after next season. But I suggested that he may not be worth much in a trade. I am thinking, how well have prospects come along? Additionally each season his likelihood to continue playing a lot of Pp and pk has to be carefully reviewed.
Keith is extraordinarily a tremendous work out warrior and always in top shape. But sooner or later I surmise he will be too tired and less effective if he continues to play a ton of minutes each game. If he does continue with huge TOI, I fear this could affect how good he is five on five. |

Does the commitment to backline youth with a play them bad or learning tee off Toews and Kane and Keith?
Maybe that's what need to happen to further the rebuild? |

If they move two of Murphy, Maatta, and de Haan, then I think that's the clear signal that they are going full bore into the youth movement. If that is the case, I think you start seeing Keith and Seabrook warming to waiving their NMC's. I think Toews and Kane are married to the Hawks till the end. |

So in this blog, I am going to do a riff off of that theme by presenting you with a team of former Blackhawks who either never got far in the NHL, was mediocre during their time in Chicago, or hit potential with another team.
I began with the 1988-89 season and worked my way to present day in order to scour rosters to build this team.-Theo
The list begins and ends with Dominick Hasek. Maybe the greatest goaltender in the history of the NHL, considered the best of the 'modern' goaltenders by many. |

I meant to add this to the Hawk draft prospects banter from yesterday concerning Marat Khusnutdinov....
So...you have rebuilding Hawk team, do you in fact lock in on a guy who comes later and projects as a maybe small second liners or are you drafting third line centre-forward you plan to win with?
That always is the quantity for NHL teams...do they look at the bigger or junior goal scorers and project FIRST and SECOND line advancement as pros/ Or do they simply set their sites on a guy that's think iOS GOING to almost guaranteed to play in the NHl and act as a cap equalizer ?
History shows years of teams drafting on potential that is connected to ids that simple dont work it that potential.
One of the biggest question I know for a fact that scouting staffs ask in the usual parts of that mid and end of the first round is if the centre they are scouting are TRULY prospects that can be considered solid candidates to be second line centres...once they take a kid as looks like a third line centre or possible wing that can slide up to the second line, they get down graded...
so you start to see wingers going off the boards before centres because they seem to project higher up line-ups...just saying...I domino know what I am sayin' though, ha! |

pretty solid returns on the trade market if I was Stan I would try and get things done early on the trades. history has shown if you wait till after the draft the return goes down and then falls off the earth once UFA opens.

Looks like a few of our EU/overseas players are either signing elsewhere or being loaned so that they can keep training:
Tuulola signed with a team in Finland (apparently not expected back, but the team will probably still hold his rights).
Soderlund loaned to a second-division Swedish team so that he can play in the fall.
Chalupa already loaned out and more are to be expected. |

Thanks, Taylor!
Here's a random fact for you and related to the debate on whether or not the Blackhawks should draft Russian players particularly in the 1st round:
The Ducks haven't drafted a Russian player in 10 years. The last time was a goalie (Bobkov) in 2009.
The Hawks have had 4 in that span (Shalunov, Nalimov, Kayumov, Altbarmakyan). |
