I mean fair enough, but with jr constantly praising jj and every source saying jj isn’t going anywhere I just can’t see it happening but damn I would love to see it. - 10inchTerror
I do have to question that he isn't going anywhere. When last year he was almost sent to Minnesota with Kessel. Then reports out of Toronto during the Kap deal even at first said JJ might be involved. Which I believe JR discussed him being in it. So I feel JR is trying to shop him and he is available. |

During a podcast. JR was asked if he was shopping Malkin. He said he wasn't shopping him, but if he essentially recieved a good enough offer he would listen. Then stated even Gretzky was traded during his career..
I wonder if JR is quietly shopping some of the core. I have to question if we brought in a top 4 D in a Murray trade. That he wouldn't at least think about testing the market for Letang. Also in such a weak Free agent market for Centers, if JR would try to shop Malkin with the thought that we can get an even greater amount back in a trade. |

Won't lie I kinda want Hainsey to be on the 3rd pairing with one of our younger D prospects. So he can show them the ropes a bit and offer some tips |

I sort of doubt it but I think any good GM would listen to offers on pretty much anyone, especially the Pens core at this stage of their careers (maybe except for Crosby who is the face of the franchise).
A couple of factors with regard to Malkin is that maybe he knows something about Malkin's injury that it is more serious (but I also think that might scare other GMs from paying a big price for him). The other is that it seems Malkin did some grumbling about the moves JR made. I think JR has an ego and probably doesn't like being questioned in this manner.
The flip side with a weak center market is that this would really weaken the Pens down the middle. I would assume that a lesser center would be coming back, and my thoughts on the 3C are known. It all adds up to highly unlikely IMO.
As for Letang, we would need to bring back a 1RD which isn't going to happen for just Murray (obviously). I've been frustrated with Letang over the years but he is really damn good and would be hard to replace, not that their aren't more than a few players who could replace him but why would those teams give them up? Maybe the 1-2 year timeline the Pens are operating under (hopefully) changes the equation. |

It's funny you mention him because I saw his name pop up as a somewhat rare left-handed RD and thought, "Hmmm..." |

I'm with you on this, he's definitely trying to trade JJ, Ruth knows he sucks. |

I'm not saying I want him, I just thought it was funny. Daley is also on the short list of left-handed RDs. Brodie is the only other one on that list that I see (and the only one I would want).
So you're saying you don't want high of the glass and a once-in-blue-moon end-to-ender? |

Oh seeing a unicorn was probably higher probability lol. That was my first and only Stanley cup finals I've ever been to and we whooped their ass lol 6-0 and Hainsey smoked them lol |

Ok...
Keep JJ vs. Victor Rask
JJ has three more years at $3.25M and Rask has two more years at $4M. |

I'd do it. I'm assuming you are sending Murray and JJ to the Wild? A pick should come our way |

Yeah, some kind of deal sending Murray and JJ and bringing back Brodin and Rask. I'm not sure what else would need to be added to the deal for either side. |

I think JJ is radioactive unfortunately. It will take a more lopsided deal to dump him IMO. |

Shhhhhh, we aren't dumping him. He's a good defensemen, Schultz sucked and dragged him down and when he played with Letang he dragged JJ down too. Neither of them played they way they should when JJ was paired with them. |

Any deal that involves JJ out and Brodin in sounds almost too good to be true. Think Pens would need to add POJ or McCann to get it done.
I'd love to find a way to stack a trade that sends out JJ and brings back Brodin and Staal... any thoughts on what that would cost? Murray, McCann, Simon & POJ? |
