The speed game is generated with execution and playing with pace as 5 man unit in support of the puck. QH described it well after the game and Petey gave him a compliment.

That's how they can pressure the Vegas BORG and escape their assimilation of every square inch of ice.

Ok, I'll bite. WTF does BORG mean in every post, is it like MTA overkill ?

The Borg have become a symbol in popular culture for any juggernaut against which "resistance is futile", a common refrain from individual Borg.

As in the VGK come in waves like a machine with no let up. They consume play to assimilate and take over the game. They are like an unstoppable force.

Why I have said, and it worked to win last night, creativity and stealth like execution can beat them.

They both have their merits though I'd apply the Bruins to the Evil Empire as Chara makes for a good Vader and the rat his Dark Lord

Carol Schram: Thatcher Demko crushes his playoff debut; the Vancouver Canucks stay alive
Despite being badly outshot by a very strong Vegas Golden Knights team, the Vancouver Canucks extended their playoff series to a sixth game thanks to a massive 42-save effort by Thatcher Demko in his NHL playoff debut.

- Carol Schram

Great blog Carol,

Sorry nuckleheads but Vancouver did not deserve to win yesterday, Demko was great, if I was Benning I would trade Markstrom as soon as the team gets bounced tomorrow night. Demko is the future, not groin pull Markstrom.

Ballsy narrative on goaltending.
You're right about them being lucky to win.

I think NuckUp suffers from a debilitating condition, severe case of repetitive word per post syndrome.

And all these TV references are tiresome, especially for someone that only watches sports, doesn’t watch or read marvel comics, or dumb movies.

Canadiens acquire Jake Allen and a 7th-round pick in 2022 from the Blues in return for a 3rd- and 7th-round pick in 2020.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I said yesterday Habs were looking for a goalie. Lots of speculation they want to move Price.

Blues clearing space for Pietrangelo

- VANTEL

Pundits saying when Price is hurt or rests the Habs struggle to win. Only 1 year left on Allen’s contract so basically cost a 3rd & Habs have a lot of cap room & helps Blurs resign Pietrangelo.

Price isn’t being shopped imo

Complaining about Beagle is a waste of time in my view - the measurable on ice data clearly shows that he is overpaid, etc. It is good fodder for the know-it-alls but not an honest debate because the qualitative benefits he may or may not bring to this team are unmeasurable.

Ultimately, this is the real world and 19 years old stars coming into the league need big brothers. We may never know the benefits of Beagle but the locker room culture he has helped create will pay dividends down the road when Petey and Hughes are in their prime and setting the locker room culture.

Some complaining that Myers, Roussel took those penalties. Roussel hit Tuch in the face with the stick cuz the guy was grabbing his stick and then let go (should have been offsetting minors at worst). Myers took a swing because he got a cross checked. Even if he didn't hit him in a vulnerable area they were cheap calls and I don't mind us getting "tough penalties" when we are working hard and being aggressive. We need more crash and bang from all the players - Specifically we need the bottom six to do a better job of it. If Motte can hussle and do it so can all the other bigger plugs.

I think JV has gotten slower living in the bubble - Seems like he is eating McDo 3 times a day slow. The guy has been the biggest disappointment in the series for me. Boeser is maybe second but even if he hasn't had an impact before last night he has made some nice plays from time to time. JV is super slow, not using his body, and his forecheck and board work is a joke.

Hit, Skate, shoot - repeat.

- TJTD

Jake could impact a game in so many ways but doesn’t understand that. Against VGK he could be a lightning rod being an agitator. Bang Theodore my choice. Run Stone & Pacioretty etc. Rest of the time use his wheels to create space for others. Shoot & crash the net.
