I honestly think that year AM/MM/WN were rookies, brought in a poop-ton of new fans. Most of them were teens/tweens who never really watched hockey before, but bought into the hype. Willy definitely had that effect. It’s a good thing that there’s a new generation of fans, but also annoying too.

In sure askarov is decent, but I prefer to draft goalies starting only in the second round. Usually lots of good ones come out of other rounds. The leafs just haven't picked the good ones.

Mike, your wrong about the Andersen deal and Murray and let me explain why. The only way that deal happens, is if Toronto keeps some of that $5 million dollar deal. The Penguins are cash strapped for next season, and there are two reasons for Murray being shopped. 1. The Pens are cash strapped and cannot afford anything north of 5 per for a goalie. 2. Murrays value decreased and the Pens want to move in another direction, skillset aside. The Pens are not about to take a 30 year old goalie for $5 million for one year, its not going to happen. The Penguins can just as easily move Murray anywhere for something, and not pay out $5 mill for a rental. The only way this deal happens is if Toronto retains some of that money, and will have to include a roster player and or a top six, a bottom six won't get it done. While we can agree to disagree, I don't know if you thought it out before writing that.
