It’ll definitely be interesting to see how things play-out with the roster in the offseason, that said, Canucks management should be extremely happy with how their young core guys performed. Pettersson, Boeser, Miller, Hughes, Stecher were all really good.
The Vegas series really brought to light the teams glaring deficiencies, third line of Gaudette, Sutter & Roussel combined for one secondary assist on an empty netter in a seven game series, third and fourth lines just not good enough offensively.

You won't need to back read...MorningWood will be here soon to give us all his expert opinion on all world matters. lol
Toffoli/Pearson was off for sure. If Green may have kept them together all PO's may have been different chemistry hard to say.
Can see Jake being trade bait out with one of the 'sh!tty' contracts lol
How do we protect Demko from the expansion draft now?
I'm ok with Stecher/Motte as well. Tech seems to get more confident as PO's raged on. Good depth dman for maybe a longer run someday.
When healthy, Edler/Tanev impressed. Would still like to move on from Edler obviously but Tanev sure had a good PO's. Can he stay healthy long term?
Very interesting times ahead. - LordHumungous
Toffoli was injured the majority of the playoffs, would be hard to have chemistry with Pearson from the rafters
Jake is definitely gone, but I think he'll be shipped for a young RHD. Or packaged to CBJ for Anderson? He could reunite with Torts!
To save Demko, either have to a) let Marky walk, b) trade Demko before the e-draft, or c) pay Seattle to take someone else (assuming they're planning on taking him.)
I'm looking forward to seeing if Benning is able to make any moves over the next couple weeks here to get the ball rolling. |

When the voting results are released I bet it’s extremely close. I suspect Makar will win even though he played with better players than Hughes. |

That third line (and the fourth line for that part) aren't enough of any one thing: not fast enough, not big enough, not tough enough, not skilled enough... they're sort of middling. JB needs to decide what he wants them to be and go after that. I think the third line getting more skilled, and the fourth line getting faster and bigger would be ideal.

I suspect they let Markstrom walk. He’ll want to maximize his return on two very good seasons, it’s his time to cash in. |

The important name of the third line is Gaudette . That is a name I can see Benning having questions about. I wonder if he is looking for a third line center for next year.

True lol. Would have just been nice to see what could have been. Green seemed dead against putting them together for whatever reason regardless of reg season or PO's... |

Truth be told, Horvat only having two assists in 17 playoff games isn’t sitting well with me either. For a second line center you’ve gotta be able to distribute the puck better than that. They need to find a better fit for him on that second line, a passing winger. Lots of work to do. |

Re-sign Tanev, let Markstrom go for bigger money, say good-bye to Toffoli, trade Virtanen. Get a rugged, bruising stay-at-home d-man. Get a bottom 6.
It was fun but frustrating. Looking forward to see what they do in the off season. Who knows when we actually see a regular season again. |

I hope so, I like Gaudette but he’s not quick enough and he’s not physical enough, Alex Tuch is a great third line center. Big, fast, physical, great shot....that’s easier said than done but they’ve got a good blueprint in Vegas. Minus the douchebag attitude. |

Meh, Gaudette is 23. Ya, he needs to work on his defense and get bigger, but I think we've all had our expectations thrown a little because Petey and Hughes have stepped in so seamlessly and expertly.
Gaudette is committed and passionate about the game, he'll get better and better. I don't think there's a need to send him off, especially at his age when he's going to grow with this team. |

He looked slow. Missed some golden opportunities. He won't be worth the money nor the term. He's passed his prime (which Benning loves). |
