Add in trading Sutter/Beagle and LE's contract and this is heading in the right direction.
Still not 100% sold on Toffoli – I like what he brings but if he's going to decline over his contract, maybe it's better to have Hoglander or Podk to take over that top 6 role? - NewYorkNuck
- definitely the better way to go! |

It depends what kind of deal he gets in this uncertain market? A 2nd round pick & prospect for a player you simply let walk is poor asset management.

Id agree with the sutter/beagle contracts as the vet ones I am excited to expire. After this series id lump edler in that group as well. I also think that depth in the bottom 6 is one of the main reasons we were outplayed so bad by vegas. I think leivo would have been a very good addition to our bottom 6. - Codes1087
I thought Edler played quite well, actually given the circumstances. It'd be best if he was playing bottom pairing 16 minutes a night. He's still a good defender, just relied on too much.
I think the biggest disappointment for all of us was Jake. He was invisible most of the time – he could have had such an impact on a series playing on a third line. What a waste. |

I like Toffoli. Not sure he's the kind of guy you want on a 5 year deal, but for $5m x 3 years, I'd be okay with him.
We've got all manner of dead money in LE, Baertschi and Ferland.
I don't think we can afford to keep Sutter. I heard they had offers on him last year and decided they wanted to keep him.
We need improvement from Jake and Gaudette if we are going to compete. Boeser needs to find another level.
Petey was great this year and I can't wait to see him get stronger. Quinn was amazing and if he can grow into a better player, we've got a lot of playoff hockey in our future over the next few years. |

I’m down for JV for JAnderson
You lose speed but get more of a true power forward. If you make that deal you need to inject some speed elsewhere in the lineup, you don’t want to become a slower team in today’s NHL |

I think that's sort of the type of player the canucks would want, and whatever team acquires jake would want. Sort of a potential high reward change of scenery type of deal. Domi comes to mind as well. Sandpaper and grit would probably have to come back |

Doesn't matter, whoever makes it i hope lose to Tampa. I'd rather the isles win over Philly too |

Come on Red, no need to be trolling so soon after 3 hard paced series, you know how it feels......oh wait, you don’t know, Flames were embarrassed really, really early in these playoffs. - Makita
I may have had a few drinks lol had to get the troll in as it will be months of waiting now.
Anyone know when the draft and free agency is ? |

Well that was a lot of fun. The last game, notwithstanding the lack of offense, was still a nailbiter. Hats off to the team and the league for pulling this off (so far at the least.) It's been a great little oasis in this desert of crap summer/year.
The boys took it to the very end which was great to see and this core looks fantastic. It's a great mix of skill, grit and excitement. Not only are they good but are so fun to watch. Let's be grateful that we have good and exciting. Those two don't always mix.
Anyway, we see where the work needs to be done. It'll be interesting to see if Benning can do it.
Finally, let's give a little toast that draft day is no longer the most exciting day of the Canucks' season. |

Vegas vs TB would probably be the most entertaining but (frank) Vegas so TB vs DAL is fine by me, don’t care who wins |

I wonder what Vegas will do next year MAF still has 2 more years at 7 per and Lehner is a UFA. Clearly Fluery is not their guy. |

In a perfect world, you can hopefully have both. Moving forward with our established core, I'd hope we can look forward to playoffs and draft days |

As much as people like Brian Burke, he only won one round in all his years here. As did Nonis.
So, Benning has as many playoff round wins as Burke (as a nuck gm.)
Similar to Demko being high up in Canuck goalie playoff wins. |

It's been a long 8 or 9 years. Let's hope we can expect to make the playoffs for years to come. Fun while it lasted. |

Re-sign Tanev, let Markstrom go for bigger money, say good-bye to Toffoli, trade Virtanen. Get a rugged, bruising stay-at-home d-man. Get a bottom 6.
It was fun but frustrating. Looking forward to see what they do in the off season. Who knows when we actually see a regular season again. - Marwood
Maybe you could predict it as you did with the PO's...

I’ll take Lightning to win. (frank) Vegas. Dallas as well. All players that we hate Benn and Radulov (frank) those guys. |
