I made the statement that if the Isles get good goaltending tonight, they would win. I was wrong. They really don't even need a goaltender tonight. - MJL
It’s never been a goaltending issue. The shots presented this this in the last game. It’s about hard work and the Islanders have been the harder working team this they took on the Caps and we struggled against the Habs. |

Giroux will win a Cup his first year anywhere else. You can book it. - arichardson22
As a secondary player. Not as “the guy” like we’re asking him to still be. Not a chance. |

As a third liner maybe. Problem is he's one of this team's top forwards, and obviously that's not good enough at this point in his career. - the deaninator
why would a team pay his contract to be a 3rd liner |
|
|
|
Don’t care who’s in the line-up...we have plenty enough to go along with the universe’s greatest goalie.
I think back to the 2009 finals...cheering against pittsburgh...crosby had an owie on his leg and wasn’t going by the 3rd...thinking...come on detroit...you got this...
And it was looking good until a 3rd line plumber named max talbot decided to re-write the course of history...with the ending that he wanted to see.
Well of course we need more strong play again from hayes and G...from TK and provy...but we’re probably going to need a youngin’ or two to help write our own history...
Can’t wait!!!
Let’s do it boys...you’ve worked so hard...you’ve come this far...
But there is more work to be done...and more games to be won.

Pitlick trying, Nate trying, Provorov has constantly tried - he is just ridiculously over-hyped, not his fault..
Lindblom gets a pass Lets see what we have there.
JVR is JVR Not playing any worse than usual. Just need to set your expectation accordingly.
Couturier gets a small pass this game because of injury.
Myers has been ok, and has the right attitude, I think.
There is just a huge deficit of talent on this club. That's really the crux of the matter. - PT21
If hes ridiculously over-hyped, what does that make Werenski |
|
|
|
I think g stays but Jake and jvr can’t get it done. - Hextall271
If you have to keep one, you keep Jake. Giroux is toast. |

I’ll give them benefit of the doubt with their youth. And I consider these mistakes they’ve made in this series not a norm. They were fantastic against Montreal. I give credit to the Isles forecheck, too. They def are still developing and we have two good ones in Sanheim and Myers. But fact is some of their mistakes / turnovers / failed clears have directly led to isles goals. It sucks - arichardson22
They’re not without fault but it’s the learning experience. I think the isles would probably take provy sanheim and Myers.
I’m prob most disappointed with tk. I can only expect that he’s hurt. If not. Wow. Terrible playoffs. Again young so he gets a pass but man we needed him.
The fault lies with the vet Corp. g Jake coots jvr. As well as the fact we don’t have a pp.

Provorov is not over-hyped. He's a real good player. Make no mistake about it. This game is not about talent, it's about leadership.
Where is the urgency and the determination? - MJL
Provorov is probably in the 20-25 range. Not a legit #1D on a contending club.
And say your piece about not talent but leadership to Barzal. He is a kid, and he is the best player on the ice.

Hey you’re a canuck loser.
Everything you guys touch...loses.
We’re trying to win the cup...not lose it like you always do and will do.
Canuck losers go away!!!
Turns out that kevin bieksa’s wearing bo horvat’s panties working the canadian tv crew didn’t do any fvking good for you.
That’s because canucks will always lose in the end. It is your destiny. You can’t change that.
Absolutely LOVED last night’s game.
But now i need to wash away all canuck loser thoughts...time to focus all energy on...
WINNING...DUH!

Werenski is a very good player. I saw every game CBJ played. He plays opposite Seth, so some of that could be the Weber effect on Suter, but I think he is better than Provorov. |

Meh some of you guys are acting like Giroux didn’t have a resurgence since going to wing. He had a good regular season and was on a tear before season paused. Does he need to be better in These playoffs ? Yes, but I don’t think giroux is “done” or needs to retire as some have said - arichardson22
Problem is he'll be 33 at the start of the next season. How many of those years does he have left, realistically?
I'm more concerned of the continues woes in the playoffs, and for the past 8 years his team has come up small in big game situations. |

1975. 19 Freaking 75. I know...we've been to the finals all those years, but, for any Flyer fan mid 40's and under...it's brutal.
The lack of heart in this game is absolutely unreal. "Total commitment." "Total heart." Exact quote from Sharp in describing first two periods. We have no one matching that.
JVR...please...Lord...I never have asked for divine intervention before, please make this the last game in a Flyers uniform. He is a DOG. - Brad Marsh Fan
If you are a Flyers fan in your mid 40's I don't think you are going to recall the glory years from the crib. You have to be 50+ to have any recollection of them winning the Cup. |

Hey AV, you're down 3-0 there is zero reason for Nate Thompson to be on the ice. |

You’re insane.
Ivan Provorov is 21 or 22 years old and has been logging huge minutes since day one. He’s a beast. A legitimate Norris Candidate one day. I can only imagine what he’ll be in 5 or 10 years. |

Ask a team like the leafs what they’d do to get provy. Great two way d that has potential to win a Norris some day.

Provorov is younger and better than Morgan Riley right now. |
