It's funny how a long series stirs up fan emotions. I saw the Isles a few times this year and had no real hate. Now everything bothers me. Andres Lee always seems to have that little $hit eating grin. As for the rest of them, they look like they have no fear/respect for the Flyers. I guess it's just a function of them outplaying us for long stretches. And the announcers got on my nerves. Keith Jones did everything but outright say that Barzal would score the game winner. It was a real love fest on Clusterf#ck and Boobalay too. Youda thought there was only one team. Suprise! Anything can happen in one game. Let's see how the Islanders react under elimination threat.
I didn't stop to think about that. Poor NoPa has to be depressed a little to deal with that. I hope he gets healthy and can make a come back next season. He was supposed to be our future #1 or #2 center - Bob Habib
Except he NEVER projected to be a #1 center. That’s why it was such a bad pick. Should’ve went d or Petterson who many had projected higher than Patrick. They took the safe way out

If the Flyers didnt take Patrick then the Internet GM's would have lost their mind also.

Hindsight is 20/20 but if hexy didn't make that pick he would have been criticized. And if NoPa didn't get his brains rattled who knows what type of player he may be today
There are too many variables of what could have been
All we can do now is hope he returns to form

They don’t have much fear no. But in their defense we don’t have anyone really worth fearing. The isles have good size and toughness and are discipline.

Yeah. The announcers complimented them a lot. Seems to happen a lot in hockey with the team that is the favorite to win Miss Jackson

Nopa if healthy should be a fine player no doubt. So from that point the pick was ok if not made at 2 with the next 4 drafted right after. Hexy felt lucky to move to 2 and didn’t want to take a chance. It was probably his biggest error as gm
Did he not play most of our run before the lockdown on the Hayes line when it was producing? Your impression of him seems a little dated, like 2019 or before.
I do not see a bottom 6 player anymore. - PT21
Michael Raffl played great with Hayes too. He also played well with Giroux. Does that make him a top 6 guy too?
Can we stop engaging with this moron. Just ignore him. He does the same thing every time. Just goes to different teams boards. - PT21
Agreed. He'll be banned again someday. Not because he trolls other team's boards. But because he lacks the proper interpersonal skills to engage anyone without constantly insulting them.

Its all about trajectory and expectations. Scotty is a 1st round pick, who captained the junior Canadian team. Much higher skill set (and no knock on Raffl, who is invaluable to us). He had some early struggles, of course, but came on last year in a bottom 6 role and stepped up further this year.
Just looked at his last 30 games. 18 points, with 9 goals, 9 assists. That projects to about 25 goals and 50 points and I think it is reasonable to expect that he has not touched his ceiling yet. Even if he has, those are solid #s. Further, he has good chemistry with his linemates.
It will be interesting if Lindblom makes a full comeback where that leaves Scotty. A JVR-Scotty-Pitlick 3rd line (assuming the wingers stay here) is a solid 3rd line, though I have to confess I see him better suited to wing where he has less defensive responsibilities.

I am not buying it. Its all an act. Which Canadian does not know there is no President in Canada? His join date was 2012. Anyone remember him before this year? (genuine question). He said he feasts on poptarts and twizzlers on Ek's board. Yet he remembers the 1976 game so he is at least middle-aged. Its all beavis butthead style low grade trolling. He should be banned not just for trolling but doing it so very badly.

With lindblom returning if patty can’t go I could see Scott as the third line center. Jvr and farabee on wings. Or NAK. If patty is back as well as the third line center then the wings become harder to figure out. The beginning of this year. But a lot of players seem to play well now together. So good for us I guess. The ones who are on their horses will be in the race.

He plays his role. No he’s not first line talent. But he can play with them if needed. Can easily compliment. Not ideal for a season but it’s necessary for the attrition aspect.

If Patty is back, then I would like to see Laughton-Patrick-JVR (who I seem to recall has played the off wing, even for us). If that line gets cooking, watch out - that could be a good 2nd line.
I see NAK as a 4th line player for now.
So many uncertainties between the cup and the lip though!
Every inch of ice matters when it comes to switching up the D, so I’m glad Flyers are the “home” team tonight. Really hoping this game doesn’t go to OT...end it in regulation, boys!
