There’s a lot of dead weight currently on the roster, there will be open spots galore sooner than later. - Pacificgem
They got prospects already to fill those few spots and or trading options. |

I don't buy the Career Year comment about Petey Hughes Bo Brock and Demko. There has been continual improvement year to year.
Outstanding goal tending is part of a championship team. I am not going to make excuses for Canucks having good goal tending .
You can win the way they played, because they just did. They did beat Minny who was one of the hottest teams going into the break. They beat last years SC champs and they took this years SC champs to game 7.
I think they will make upgrades again this year. - VANTEL
Agreed
On one hand the nay sayers criticize the team for getting lucky over a seven game series but conflate the regular season with playing Vegas every game. The good thing about the regular season is they don’t have to play Vegas and St Louis 82 times.
Another off season will do wonders for the young core (took huge steps this playoffs after the layoff) but end of the day some have made up their mind and will never believe in a Benning constructed team. |

Battling against pessimists is futile. Is it only Van fans that complain about success? - Nighthawk
Haha with how important analytics is now, I think every team has a group that complains about success...always a data point to negatively spin |

I don’t converse with him, he’s as smart as your goalie stick, and that’s being generous. It’s a pointless exercise. - Pacificgem

I think everyone agrees that they need about 10 upgrades. You are not going to get all 10 in one year and that is probably why both sides agree we are 2-3 years away |

Who really knows.
I can see them taking a step back, before taking 2 steps forward.
Really depends on the makeup of the squad next year, so TBD.
Expectations will definitely be higher tho. - dbot
'If' we sign TT at a decent deal our top 6 becomes as competitive as anyone else in the league. I'm more worried about what happens on defence if anything. Goaltending I think we'll be good either way with Marky or Demko. But I just can't see this club dropping back 4-5 spots. Moving up another 4-5 yes. Just IMO> |

You’re too thick to get anything through all that muscle between the ears. You got the whining down pat & the arrogance in spades. |

We need to get bigger on D. Also need a shooter back there that can get them through. Take some heat off of the forwards. Beyond Hughes there isn't enough offence from our D.
I also agree bottom 6 needs a makeover.
Top 6, at this point you need a winger that can play heavy and score. TT isn't that guy. If we sign him, we still need beef in our top 6.
That's a lot of changes in my mind as well. - Load Management

A Dman with size that can play mean and put up big numbers is what we call a HEDMAN . It usually takes two Dmen to fill all those needs.

Myers played it mean & had penalties called every time. StL & VGK got the free pass. |

I will say the officiating was a bit better than normal vs Canucks. That call on Miller with 6 min left in the third was pure chicken-sh!t however and perfect timing but it is what it is. When Boeser couldn't bury and we blew that 5 min major the writing was on the wall. |

I agree. I wasn’t looking for flaws. He brought an edge that didn’t agree with refs. |

He did which is what I noticed when he was in WPG. Effective in PO's. |

I hearya but sometimes on the wrong side of a call other times the right side. I have a hard time pinning it on a ref. I have in the past but usually in the heat of the moment. |

The officiating was far from good but it is not the reason we lost to Vegas. It is what it is .

Imo what we lacked was a 3C that could drive the play. AG isn’t there yet. In 1-2yrs I think he might be. Our PP was the biggest reason we lost game 7 to VGK. |
