Do you want him & what would you give & what would the pairings be? |

I like him, the price would be way too high though.

I think Myers had a good playoffs. I know some disagree but I don't care. - VANTEL
I do too, he’s prone to being a little aggressive and trying to hard to make something happen instead of letting the play develop but he was ok. Stecher was good but he’s just too undersized for the western conference, if he was a dynamic skater or had an incredible shot, I may think differently, but he doesn’t.
Dallas Stars “D” impressed me last night, never really watched them before, they’re big, mobile and talented. |

Honestly that is really sh1tty about Stecher. Heart of a lion , wants to be here , cheap , effective but like you say undersized for a Dman

Agree.
Offensive D for us are:
Hughes Rathbone as LHD. They need a RHD compliment that is big & physical. Only Woo is in the pipeline & 2-3yrs away from the show. Gudas is my cheapish option. Tree is an option. |

I bet Rathbone gets traded to the Bruins
I can't see Hughes OJ and Rathbone on the Left side. |

I'd be okay with Gudas, i'd prefer a hockey trade though for a younger D.

Hughes, Myers, Edler and Juolevi need to be here next year on “D”.....and Benn on the bottom pairing, beyond that, get some new bodies in. |

Take a pass. He did have three pretty good years in Minny but is trending down the last few seasons. Edler had more points in 10 less games lol |

It was fun watching Dallas's D punish the forecheck and make them think twice. |

The D needs upgrading this off season, not an easy task. A stop gap for the young players. It will need to be fixed if we want to deeper in the playoffs next season.

Klingberg hammered Reilly Smith on the end boards with a big hit, I didn’t expect that from an offensive guy like him but he’s big and physical. |

I agree with Lefty that next year Edler Hughes OJ and Myers are the only ones set in stone. Benning needs draw up a plan of what type of D he thinks he needs and then go out and find it.

I think they see throughout next year who's the better player, OJ or Rathbone, and make a decision from there.
Another option, which isn't ideal but could work, is have one play their off side if they can. Vegas has 5 LHD and seem to be doing alright with it. |

Our team defense sucks, it wouldn't matter if this team had Hedman,Seth Jones, Pietroangelo, Makar, and Heiskanen. If this forward group can't help out they will be relying on goaltending for a long time.
I would be focusing on upgrading the forwards.
Derek Grant and Curtis Lazar would be big upgrades over Gaudette/Sutter/Beagle, at about 1 million per. |

Agree here and Dumba Hughes on the PP could be good... But if we are gonna toss that kind of cash around go after Krug. He would be an unreal fit with Hughes IMO. |

I'm curious to see what they have for Reeves. As a group they seem to be fine with taking and giving hits. Our D tends to get steamrolled if the aren't quick up the ice. There are times when I genuinely fear for Tanev's well being. |

Which comes back to the forwards, they don't provide enough support for the defense.
It is pretty sad when the only forward that I ever see giving some consistent support is Loui Fuc king Erickson. He supplies a bit of a pick when opposition going in on forecheck, he gives an option as an outlet pass, wins board battle in defensive zone.
The only other player consistent at this is Miller, but hey, its the defensemen fault. Lol |

Lots of truth in this. We had always hoped Jake would be like that but no. I don't think Zack has a mean streak and that is really too bad he has the tools.
