Take out Baertschi and add Eriksson and sure. Gaudette was on his way to 20 G and Rathbone was one of the best AHL Dmen in his first year .
Also give us a second round pick - VANTEL
Would sub OJ for Rathbone. |

Too bad Carol you couldn't make it back to the bubble in time to bring some luck to the Canucks. They ran out of it in Game 7 despite the Demko heroics.
The VGK are deeper, stronger, faster and skilled with great goaltending plus coaching. No holes for an experienced team that didn't need any breaks. The VGK juggernaut was handed a schedule that they could capitalize on. The Canucks could only hang on and hope to score first. They had their opportunities. BB not burying the open net shot was the closest they came to stealing it.
Now the aftermath on how to improve in the off season. Carol why would you say the Canucks should emulate the Stars? |

Interesting, the team and fans are pretty high on Rathbone though. - pker2theend
I like Gaudette and Rathbone, and don't think that highly of Risto, so I think that's a pretty lopsided trade.
Would rather have a solid, bigger mobile guy on the right, as Rathbone + Juolevi are the better offensive players. A younger, bigger Chris Tanev basically.
Another thing: if you get rid of Gaudette, who's coming in to replace him? Our C depth in the organization isn't the great. |

Could Tanev do this?

No one knew that Demko could play that level. The thing about this off season is there is a large amount of good goalies available and with a flat cap I think their agents know the cost could come down.
I want Marky Demko but I have no issue with Holtby/Demko or Halak/ Demko. - VANTEL
Oh of course. I'm just saying if Demko had shown that in the regular season Marky probably wouldn't be injured now.
There are a lot of goalies available, both free agents and trades, but also a lot of teams looking for a number one guy. I think Marky could easily find a 6 mil job out there in Edmonton or Calgary or Carolina if those teams want to pursue him. |

Micheal Ferland update.
Agent Jason Davidson : "I have talked with Mike and the Canucks, Mike talks to the Canucks and the doctors as well.
He is feeling well.
I have talked with Jim Benning but that is all I will say. I plan on talking with Jim soon." - VANTEL
This dude needs to enjoy life away from hockey. Trade for Anderson if you want a Ferland replacement. |

Is Gaudette the answer at 3rd line Center or is he part of a package to get a top 4
D - man? Would Ristolainen for Gaudette, Baertschi and Rathbone work. Would be similar cap and Baertschi is a former player for Krueger who might help him re-start his career. - G - Man
Ristolainen is worse than Myers why would you want that? |
|
|

He's got some moves

But not looking for that offensive guy. Just need a steady solid D man to counter a more offensive guy on the left - NewYorkNuck
I would have preferred the puck more in the Vegas end last night

#Canucks If Ferland decides to call it a career his $3.5M Cap hit goes on the Long Term Injury List for the next 3 seasons and relieves Cap pressure for Vancouver. The LTIR Cap hit might also become a tradable asset.
GMJB likely wants to know Ferland's intentions a.s.a.p.

JB stating his prospects were NHL caliber. That he won't go after other team UFA's. Plus that he wants to resign his guys. After what the team showed him all points to improving from within.
To start the season Hogz, Lind, OJ, Rathbone and Rafferty will all have a legit shot. Podz and Tree come mid season allowing for TDL deals with out going vets like Sutter and Benn.
But of course JB likes draft day deals so we might get a surprise trade none were expecting and question at first. |

Think of the speed upgrade with some of those guys slotting in. |

There is some truth to this but who knows.
At the beginning of the playoff I thought Stecher had to go when in fact Benning could bring back Tanev and Stecher at similar rates as last year.
They do have prospects than can start replacing some contracts.

There’s more than one rostolinen boner on this board. The points make people not pay attention to his defence. |

He’s not wrong. Id like to see another defensive dman. Dillon or Miller. Other than that, let them all mature as a group. They just took a cup favorite to 7. |

Yes plus great puck movers with pace. Instant bottom depth upgrades. With the experience the young core got on this run they can afford to bring in more rookies. |

OJ's been turning into a PK specialist and shot blocker. He might become a defensive guy like Tanev with a better shot and stretch passing. |

Someone on Twitter was recalling how Ducks had to protect Bieksa and had to trade then Shea Thodore to VGK. I miss Sbisa |
