I generally try to give people the courtesy of a reply. MJL tends to reply and frequently interrupt, my interactions with everybody. I never respond to his posts unless he is responding to me. Its a little hard to constantly ignore someone.

Well look at the team... doesn’t resemble anything some of us grew up with.

Anyone who’s hally about this club grew up on fahtasy sports, not playing and watching real sports i’m sorry... As others have said: the kids Are promising/future is bright is rhetoric for clubs like buffalo. Some of us expect a top 5 market team to show some fight in a game 7... not a whimper.

I don't think there should be one. You still have to win 4 rounds in the playoffs. You could argue that you didn't like the play in round or the best of 5 first round, but they still need to win 4 rounds to win the Stanley Cup.

I took a glance at the first page of thread. Seems very mellow. I like the hurly burly of life. I am not sure I am cool enough for them.

Also, my vaguely planned departure has nothing whatsoever to do with you all, and certainly nothing with MJL, who is a good guy at heart. Perish the thought. I had a rollicking time here last few months, and will surely be peeking in and posting ever now and then,like I used to before the pandemic. Its simply that now since the team is done, the excitement of the buzz is unlikely to bring me here.

I don’t like that no one had to come to Philly to beat the Flyers or go into Boston. I don’t love the quality of play or the quality of the ice. I haven’t loved that some players minds are not into and some have even opted out.

At times this has felt like a competitive exhibition.

Jake will either be protected or traded. If you left a player of his stature that has been with the team for however long he has been, wears a letter, and didn’t protect him the relationship would be ruined and he would demand a trade if not picked up in expansion.

If I was Seattle I'd take him. Easily the best player available in an Expansion draft. Cap hit is high but honestly not going to get a player like him from any other team. I did my own Seattle simulation and not a lot of quality out there. Only blindspot I have are the young names I dont know well and arent currently on the roster. Should be some good D available though.

My g/f and I were driving home just before the game started last night, and she asked me if I'd feel proud of the team even if they lost.

I said "yeah, unless they didn't show up and lost like 10 - 0, or something."

Well, it wasn't as bad as 10-zip, but pretty close. I just don't know if I feel proud of this team, because that ending was flat out embarrassing.

I mean what did you realistically expect? Watching this team play all series long, I knew ahead of time they were going to lose and it was going to bad. You cant play 7 games like they played and not get lit up a few times.
