There are a lot of building blocks but everyone has to play their role Competently, including coaches.
Sean Couturier acting as a shutdown center but number one center is ridiculous. James van Riemsdyk getting scratched or acting as net screen on the second power play unit is a waste.
It was a lot of waste and too much pride. You can work your way down to the players by there. - SuperSchennBros
Why?
Begeron, Kopitar have done it for the btter part of this past decade, and each has a ring (Kopitar has two). |

What happened to Nolan Patrick? Did he miss this whole season because of a concussion? - Vukota
He has chronic migraines. Its very mysterious. He has been on the verge of playing this season and yet was not fit to go the bubble.
Honestly, there is a good chance at this stage it could be career ending. |

Fletcher said the focus was him to be ready for 20-21. My guess is they didn’t wanna have a set back risk in the bubble |

Maybe we could work out a deal with Ottawa for something. They have 7 picks on the first two rounds. Jesus. |

Hey congrats on your win. I don't have the heart to go over to your board and congratulate your fans but you guys deserve the win. You played clean hockey for the most part (got away with some interference but if they are not calling it and we cannot adjust, no point in changing it), and if there is any thing you need to be concerned about it is why this series went to 7, because it should have been maybe 4-1 on merit. |

It is almost certainly career ending. Migraines dont go away once they start. Best case scenario this plays out like Forsberg after his foot problems. IE, he comes back to.play a few games and looks good. We trade him and he barely plays another game. |

That's company talk. Doesn't make sense.
He has had well over a year to get better and they cannot take him along to the Stanley Cup playoffs where they take a cancer survivor who just completed treatment?
If his health is THAT fragile at this stage after so long, just read between the lines. |

It is terrible. However, Patrick had red flags as the number two pick. They knew he had injury issues coming out of juniors. They chose him anyway, and went chalk, instead of thinking deeply about the risk. They could have had Pettersson. Hextall did a lot right to build this team, but that is one mistake he and the organization regret. The organization shot itself in the foot by drafting Patrick. Plain and simple. |

I know plenty of people with migraines. There is a regular poster on this board who suffers from them badly. For the most part, they can be managed. Occasionally they might be debilitating but his (NP) cannot be the usual kind. |

It makes perfect sense...... His issues were so bad he couldnt play or practice. By the tail end of the season he was able to practice. Not all issues completely disappear in the course of 1 year and the fact he hadn't played a game all season, it literally made no sense to put him in a playoff game. You are talking about putting a guy who hasnt played a game since the end of the 2018-19 season, who didnt have a training camp, didnt play at all this season and you expect him to play playoff hockey? |

But those injuries were hockey injuries, were they not? Not relevant to this situation? |

Yep the red flags were there including he had “migraines” . A good gm would have thought outside the box but hey he was the “consensus” #2 pick ...
Would have been better off not winning the lottery |

Keep pushing with that Peterson bull. And in hindsight I would’ve taken makar. Please explain all of these red flags. |

Ok Captain Hindsight.
They were talking whichever one of Nico/Patrick that the Devils didn’t take and that was the consensus among 99% of people.
He’s 21 years old. To say his career is over at this point is ridiculous. The last update we’ve had is that he’s felt better now than he has this entire time he’s been out. |

Good luck to you guys going forward. For the most part, you guys are a good bunch of posters. I told you guys this was going 6 or 7 games.
Hart is a stud. You’ve got some great young players. I like Provorov and Myers a lot and guys like Pitlick and Laughton suck to play against. We’ll be playing in a series again soon enough. |

You don't take guys in the bubble "expecting": them to play playoff hockey. You have your plan B, and plan C and plan D.
They took Lindblom, who went through radiation, chemo and surgery. They took Frost, who has never managed tostay in the lineup, and Andreoff. Patrick was skating and shooting pucks before the break.
Think about what it means for Lindblom to make it to plan D and not Patrick. |

Spot on. And if/when Patrick comes back the first game he misses after he takes a big hit, the cycle starts all over again. Counting on him being a part of the future is penny wise, and pound foolish.
The "future is bright" brigade is all over twitter. It's a joke. Save that poop for another day. This team just got completely dominated by the Islanders. A team I didn't even consider a threat this year. The Rangers are on the rise with the top pick in the draft. The Metro division is going to be insanely competitive next year. The Flyers can finish 7th next year and it wouldn't even be a surprise. |

Has had injury issues since he was 13. Broke his collarbone twice, had a bad leg injury and now the chronic headaches. There are a few red flags for you. Potential is NOTHING if you can't see it playing on the ice for you in a Flyer jersey. |

Not even Petterson....Heiskanen and Makar as well.
Can you imagine if we had Pastrnak and Hesikanen instead of Sanheim and Patrick....could have happened.

Seattle needs to take Voracek.
I would seriously kick tires on Leine and Eichel too.
They can be the centerpiece with Hart and Provy for the next 6 years.

Credit to the Isles top line 27/13/7 played keep-away rather easily. 29,12,18,10,15 and 53 (17 a bit) also were just better. Coaching? Sure. But players gotta play and the Flyers did not have them. If not for Carter Hart, it wouldn't have even been close. |
