Reinhart, 8th overall, Samuelsson for Monahan and Mangiapane?

Is that even remotely realistic?

I'm trying to think what Calgary would want from the Sabres.

- kingcong39

No talk of Reinhart moving at all, none.

Aside from the 8th overall and Cozens, what else would Calgary be interested in?

Olofsson? Jokiharju? Kahun?

Pass on both, how long is Anderson going to out? and Merzlkins can't handle being a number 1. Both goalies in Columbus can't handle being number ! IMO.
- SABRES 89

Don't need him to be a 1, just share with Ullmark and heard Anderson will be good to go when the season starts.

They need another young center and a D man or 2.

I still don't see how a good team, with no C depth, is trading their 1C.

Talks heating up for Monahan and the Sabres, this is going to get interesting some may not be happy. They like Toffoli as well.
- SABRES 89

I'll go on record as saying he isn't my 1st choice , and I hope they will not pay top dollar (i.e. Cozens or 8-OA going back) to acquire him...however, IF they do, then they absolutely must acquire a viable RW who has a solid 200' game to help out defensively.
I 'll also go so far as to say 8-OA or Cozens is a big overpayment ... dependent on final details of the deal.

People need to be concerned with how long Anderson has been out.

I never said Cozens and something needs to get done, I really don't think some people hear it or see it when Eichel is talking. This isn't a joke or " something he will get over" or, " he's just upset now" NO, this is real he will want out .

Isn't Backlund their #2? He's no slouch.

Maybe the Flyers are offering them a C + for John Q. Hockey? Nolan Patrick?

Just spitballing here.

It's too bad, because he probably could be the one stepping into our 2C role next year, and we'd be that much farther ahead.

Oh I agree about Anderson, I am 1 person that understands about shoulder injuries, I have had 3 surgeries alone this year, but the extra time off with him will help.

He can play on my 4th line any day. He plays the game the right way. And any guy who poses for his media guide picture sans teeth is the type of player we need.

Meh
Foligno was out as well, had his shoulder repaired and came back just fine playinga physical game.
People here hated on him the season & 1/2 that he played hurt with it, came back better than ever.
He'll be fine as long as the Dr. Did a good job repairing it.

Bills waived FB Patrick DiMarco.
DiMarco was placed on injured reserve (neck) last week, but they'll let him go completely now. The fullback played 16% of the Bills' offensive snaps last season as a pure run-blocker.

On a lot of teams, sure. In Calgary, it's clear cut. Maybe they are going to tear down and rebuild. With a few key older players under contract, that seems like a strange move.

Kris Letang reportedly has told those close to him that he thinks he'll be traded.
Penguins GM Jim Rutherford has publicly stated that he won't be actively trying to trade core players, but Letang is reportedly concerned in spite of that. It probably doesn't help that Rutherford has sent out feelers to opposing general managers in an attempt to gauge Letang's market value. “Honestly, it doesn’t sound like they know what the market is for Letang,” one league source told The Athletic. “Jim was fishing. That’s not exactly trying to trade the guy. But the word’s out that Jim wants to know what he could get from one of the teams Letang could go to.” Letang is 33-years-old now and his age is even more of a concern given his long history of injuries. That said, when he's healthy, Letang is still one of the best offensive defensemen in the league and it's unlikely that trading Letang would make the Penguins better in the short-term, which would be their primary focus given how heavily the team is in win-now mode.

Gonna be interesting to see what Daboll comes up with this year. He has a lot of weapons at his disposal.
