You say that, but a GMTM overpay would be brutal. We still know nothing about Adams as a GM.
- Lunaion

Sure, but the only way I’d define overpay is including Cozens or someone like Jokiharju. Which I doubt happens

You mean Kim and Ralph at gm ....

I am guessing some sort of cap dumb possibly with Monahan.

Wouldn’t it make sense to waive Okposo and skinner to.
- Camel

Not Skinner, maybe Okposo but he might take the assignment to get paid.

Sam’s best season is 65pts
That’s some wonky math there sir

- jdfitz77

If $10m is "good" value at 70 points
Then at 60 points that equates to $8,571,428
At 65 points it would be $9,285,714

Exactly what I said....Sam would be worth $8.5 - $9.0m

Wonky math eh?

I sound like a broken record but, they better do something fast you can not keep this up, or Eichel will be in the playoffs with another team next year.
- SABRES 89

My Buffalo media friend agrees. He's 100% certain Eichel will ask for a trade without real progress this year.

And I really think Botts was canned because of it.

And I hate to do it, but if the 8th can bring back a good player in that 25-26 or younger age group it should be in play. There are teams hurting cap wise this year, it's a perfect year to add some decent talent.

Yep. The right deal should leave you satisfied in 2-3 years when #8 emerges. Yeah he's good, but so is our guy.

This team needs decent talent, but also players with heart, that have a little grit, do whatever it takes to win puck battles, make a defensemen pay while retrieving a puck. When I played hockey was taught you might not always win that race into the corner or behind the net for the puck, but that defensemen was gonna pay for being there. We don't have enough guys who will finish there checks. It's not always about talent, HEART goes a long way too.

I really, really wish the game was much more focused on playing at high speed over making the defenseman pay, so to speak.

Playing with speed and finishing your checks go hand in hand. Making a defensemen think that he is gonna get hit every time, goes toward more turnovers and more offensive opportunities.

Dahlin
Cozens
Joker
Mitts
Thompson
Johnson
Laaksonen
Samuelsson

Players with a chance:
UPL, Bryson, Asplund, Ruotsalinen.

Says a lot about Dahlin, Cozens, Joker that this is a top 5 unit

'Finishing your check' means you didn't get there in time to make an actual play on the puck.

The ultimate goal of 'finishing your check' is to injure the opposing player, whether a little or a lot, to get them to he scared to play.

I hate it, personally of course.

The player that can take a hit to make a play is far, far more valuable than the player that can make a hit to make a play. It's been this way for a long, long time.

I'm not moving pick 8 for 2 years of Monahan

I would move pick 8, casey and a d prospect (samuelsson or johnson) for barzal

It’s three years of Monahan, but I’m in full agreement.

To be clear, I am good with hitting if the intended purpose was true to the original point, which was to separate the man from the puck, but that happens so infrequently anymore as hitting now almost always happens after the puck is gone to even long gone.

Remember four years ago when they were supposed to trade #8 for Cam Fowler?

Works pretty good for Vegas and the Islanders.
