am getting the impression that the Pegulas are looking at it the same way...avoiding mistakes and embarrassment is worse than facing them and moving on from them...in fact, i'm of the opinion that doing so makes things worse as using the defense that something "never really happened" just compounds the problem and leads to more mistakes and hubristic avoidance until the bottom really falls out
