trade for Saad, flip Olofsson to RW

Skinner-Eichel-Olofsson
Saad-Monahan-Skunk

- navinrjohnson

And are you keeping the 8th pick in getting this done. If not, Gerbe is gonna give you the 15 year old girl “Ew”....

Edit- your soccer czar won’t play skinner with jack because, practice. If he didn’t do it with Olo injured. He won’t do it now. So best get skinner off jacks line. He might score goals if you do that. And we know soccer games are low scoring affairs.

Skinner is a finisher so Is Sean monahan so who's passing the Puck

Remember that one time Jack Eichel had a bunch of assists playing with Skinner but had a more balanced box stat playing with Olofsson?

Cause I member.

Players can play different roles. Says Jack Eichel.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Eichel led the league in puck possession in the o-zone and has a higher shooting percentage playing away from Skinner either though.

Regardless, not the point I wanted to get across. Players can adapt to their linemates. Saying player X on Team A playing with Line 1 does not mean, and we see this with UFAs basically always, that his production or play style will remain the same playing on Team B.

It took Jack Eichel to say to himself, hey, I want to work on my shot and shoot more, for him to do it the following year.

Sean Monahan is of the offensive caliber to do the same thing. Hey, here's a guy (Skinner) that can really shoot it if I can get it to him in the crease. I'm going to focus my game on helping him get the puck inside the dots.

Players change all the time. Christ, Zach Bogosian's analytics look good.

Think analytics has a long way to go in this game to really define a player, regardless of situation.

If there is a deal that makes sense I’m all for it.

I don’t believe however there is as big a difference between Monahan and someone like Bonino/Henrique that’s worth moving a top 10 pick for.

The first line was indisputably better in 18-19 than in 19-20.

Mainly because Skinner is a lot better than Olofsson

It hasn’t though. That’s the reality of the pick.

I want to make the pick.

I also want to look competitive this decade and Paul Stastny and Erik Haula types don’t cut it unless you are then pony’ing up for a high caliber winger

- sbroads24

How are the duo of Paul Stastny and Erik Haula not a large upgrade over the Centers they've trotted out there regularly the last 2 years not named Eichel or Larsson?

Because it's just kicking the can down the road.

If we acquire Monahan, the top 3 center for the next three seasons are

Eichel
Monahan
Cozens (IMO Cozens can probably handle this role)

If the move is Stastny, were having the same conversations next year, because he's 35 freaking years old, and were looking at getting more centers again

Enough punting.

There are ways to improve the team enough next year to make the playoffs without moving the 8th overall pick.

If we have to move next years first after “punting” this year and taking our first round sweep then so be it.

The 8th overall pick is an unknown, it may be risky but it very well could be the player that puts us over the top in a few years while I guy like Monahan may be walking to UFA

I agree, We've also been saying "In a few years" since 2014.

I don't want to continue to look at glaring holes on this roster year in and year out.

"In a few years" Eichel will have 3 years left to UFA status. Start trying to win now. It's time.

If we can do that and keep 8th, IM 100% for it.

If 8 needs to go, I'll survive.

Raise your hand if you think Adams is going to address our pressing 2C need without getting fleeced.

The rookie GM who has no scouting or player development department and a waitress as his boss. This has "Towering Inferno" epic disaster written all over it.

My hand is not raised.

Soooooooooo...

How are we feeling about Sunday?

I think that most people are over-rating the Bills this year (their schedule was weak last year), but they should go through the Jets like a hot knife through butter.

As long as he gets a 2C, im calling it a win. It's possible to win now and lose later, which I'm fine with.

Hypothetically if they traded 8 for Monahan and that player becomes better than Monahan in 3 years then I'm sure a certain segment of the fan base will run around screaming "zomg, fleeced again!"

But if we get 3 good years and some playoffs out of it:

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
