It’s true. He made his mark with the pens and then got paid by the preds and had been a let down.

It’s hilarious. Monahan is so much better then Bonino. Yet you hate mono and love bono. You are literally the ultimate troll

Bonino is a solid 200 foot center. He would be a solid 2C whom can move into a 3C role.

Glue guy.

he would be a solid addition

if cozens is ready for second line center, bonino plays the third line

if cozens struggles, bump bonino up to second line

Oh like the last two seasons that the pegula's spent as much money as the league allowed? They had to roll some of the $ into next years cap on the frolik trade.

Wither away with bad players is different than spending less than the cap. What should have terri done?

Can place the overage on a lot of places, but this one stung:

Thompson: $696,237 for 7 minutes of ice time

Bonino couldn't make it as a 2nd line center with the Pens or the Preds and they have better talent then the Sabres, so how is he a 2nd line center on a scrubby Sabres team ?

Bonino is not a good player. So of course the price will be lower. Pen and let’s trash.

Defence does not matter.

They don’t appreciate Larry, can’t expect them to like Bonino who can defend as well and put up 50 points.

I believe 89 and homies sources ..... they told us this weeks ago.

This story confirms it

Unless Servelli's "sources" are Hockeybuzz.

The story confirms nothing. It's someone reporting what someone else is guessing.

I was going back to the beginning. When it all started and money was no object. At that point. Before the ink is dry on the transfer papers.

Now, we are proper franked with a lean model, an internal cap, a 9 year organizational vet with zero front office experience, a motivational soccer czar, One owner that’s too big of a fan and another that needs all the titles and knows more about hockey in 9 years than a hockey lifer that’s played, coached, gm’d and consulted.

No my friend, the book is out now... either Adams And the czar pulls some mcbean magic miracle out of their collective rectums despite the great and powerful oz above them or this team is proper franked and jack is gone in a year. And with the 9 year track record of our current ownership structure, it’s 80/20 and that’s 80% proper franked.

Yes. He's one of the few Sabres that can beat NHL defenders 1v1. Plenty of ability there. He's no longer waiver exempt, so what happens next is anyone's guess.

Good post, although terri flew around and convinced Robyn regeir to waive to join the Sabres.

We made the playoffs the first year right?

We liked them, then they tanked.

I liked the tank, but didnt take into account the ramifications of purposely losing.

Its take its toll. Who wants to be hired to lose?

Looking forward to seeing Pach's $72.5 million roster. One thing is for sure, there is going to be a lot of young guys with major question marks on the roster next year -re: Tage, Mitts and Borgen. Cozens is an absolute guarantee to make the team. And you have to throw in Lazar and perhaps a CJ Smith or Ruostilan (sp) into the mix. No way guys like Vesey, Larsson @ $3 mill each, Simmonds, etc are resigned. Impossible to see both Montour and Risto on the team. And regarding their good RFA's - Olo and Reinhart, who knows what they sign for - or if they are part of the team moving forward.

If the TSN article is true, almost all the teams will have some type of a lower cap mandate. Too bad Botts screwed us over and the Pegulas are cheapening out at the wrong time. There are going to be some amazing players made available at bargain prices. Financially sound teams like the Leafs and Rangers will be able to take advantage.

I'm kinda hoping the Sabres scouts expected some sort of a longer curve?. Maybe grow into his body?

How much worse can tage be than larry lazar?

Most teams don't even have a president of hockey ops. GL finding someone with that experience.

I don't think they would have kept him in the NHL if they saw it that way. If he fills out a bit and gets to the net, he could turn things around quickly. A full year off isn't going to help though.

Lazar probably plugs into a defensive role. Can't ask Tage to do that. It's the awkward thing about our team....the 4th line turns into the 3rd out of defensive necessity. Look forward to the day that changes.
