Yeah its their fault for listening to the fans and people in the NHL all they did was bring in the top rated coaches and gms you wanted.. went after high priced free agents to buffalo that everyone wanted ..

They have tried countless times to bring super stars to buffalo and have gotten. Taken advantage of...

It goes back to Darcy's idea of the tank and the Pegula's agreed with it. Perhaps when you tank and don't get a Mario and Jagr, or Crosby and Malkin as your foundation it's a tough row to hoe and also go with a sped-up re-build plan where you trade the top picks you got for the players you traded. Not sure who led the sped-up plan GM TM or Pegulas but they should have been patient. Not to mention throwing big money at bad FA's wasn't good either. A lot of those are hockey decisions and GM's were no doubt excited for Buffalo to be competing with the big dogs in trying to get players and tossed money around like it was candy. There is plenty of blame to go around.
