Which I always found hilarious. He was Nashville's 4th best d-man but third best in the league? Crazy.

He played better than his peers that year, yes.

I don't see that anywhere.

Just because a team is shopping a player doesn't mean they suck.

There are bad fits everywhere. Barrie was a horrible fit here and he'll likely go onto another team and will be fantastic for them.

This I do agree with. There's fits good and bad everywhere.

Barrie got off to a bad start because of an idiot coach with a vendetta. The gm acquired a rhd that were were short on that is elite pp contributor (with questionable defense) and the coach preceded to not play him on the pp (which had been absolutely poop for over a year based on awful coaching) and played him in a shutdown role.

Look no further than dubas comments about making mistake about getting new player acclimated. I think this directly related to that situation. I think he feels mistake for him to not stand up more stringently to demand players be used correctly.

Barrie has been sheltered his entire career, which is its just a little more tough to make him effective.

I don't see the correlation between him and Subban in that regard.

Yes

Subban wasn't pure offence for NSH or MTL. He brought a lot more to the game for both teams.

He was straight up known strictly as offense only dman who took too many risks and wasn't good in his own zone. Tried hard and competed, but no good in his own zone.

I don't even know how you're trying to sell this as Suban is good(and has been good) defensively.

I think we can all,see you're joking

It's a good thing no one made one.

He was awful all season. With Babs, with Keefe. Dude, he played third pairing in the playoffs. He was a hot mess all year. The trade was a disaster.

He was much better on keefe, but yeah he was still bad.... Which was the point. He got off to a poor start becuase of the position he was put in ie forced to be shutdown pair with no pp time.

That was what dubas was referring to with that comment. Do we know if things would have been differnt had he been sheltered like he should have been and run the pp? We don't know but we do now that he was improperly used to start and he got off to a bad start, fair assumption to make that the poor usage compounded the poor start.
