Lol, that's extremely simple. You're better than that
It's trading a guy (whose draft position doesn't matter anymore as it's all said and done) who hasn't lived up to his potential, plus a guy whose contract is pretty damn big, for a lottery ticket. - NewYorkNuck
Bloated's theory is like saying I bought a car for 40 0000 five years ago it should be worth the same today

I'm sure JB's getting calls on JV based on yesterdays comments. - VanHockeyGuy
It sounds like it. Also calls on Gauds and Demko

I’m going to add Demko to my list of Virtanen and Stecher to be moved. If Benning signs Markstrom I say Demko asks to be moved. All three can go to Ottawa for picks #Ilovepicks |

No, it was a bad pick but you have to turn it into something more than a second rounder. Turning a bad pick into an even worse trade doesn’t sound like good management to me. - bloatedmosquito
Throw another log onto the fire that he is a bad manager. I am sure he has heard it all.

It doesn’t matter if he has an out-clause but once he’s loaned out you cannot just pull him back whenever you feel like it. When guys commit to European teams they have to stay there unless you have an out-clause. - Pacificgem
Apparently you can according to this article...
"The Vancouver Canucks signed Hoglander to a three-year entry-level contract in April, with the intention of bringing him to training camp for the 2020-21 season. Unfortunately, that training camp will now be delayed, meaning Hoglander would be waiting around for months during his most important development period. To solve that problem, he has been loaned to Rogle in the SHL where he will compete until the NHL training camp opens in mid-November"

No you can‘t, European leagues would never agree to that transfer agreement, that says nothing but he’ll be at camp because he’s got an out-clause.
Can you imagine the NHL poaching players constantly from European leagues? They have a business to run and the players are the greatest assets so they’d never agree to the NHL yanking their best players back over to North America all the time. |

TBH, I’m not better than that. I’m a whole lot worse.
So you’re taking a poor top 10 draft choice and a horrendous free agent signing and turning them into an equally terrible trade? Now that’s a trifecta!
I’m definitely not good with that.
Plus, how does a 2nd round pick turn into a lotto ticket?

Also, playing in the SHL has me liking his chances of earning a spot even more. He is already very talented, and he will come in to training camp hot. I say to play him with Bo in the preseason and see how he looks before making a decision. |

They're not going to win the cup without him. - Marwood

Id actually love to see Pearson traded in order to sign and keep Toffoli and play Hoglander with those two.
But Pearson and Toffolis friendship would be ruined |

I'm super positive. This team is now a contender. They beat the Stanley Cup champions. Just need to get Loui to agree to a MTA, then promote last years draft picks and they're set for years of continued success. |

Keep Pearson and put him on our 3rd line. Would make us a much deeper team having our top 6 be Miller, EP, Boeser, Hogger, Bo, TT. With Pearson, Gauette and someone else on our 3rd line. |

Virtanen is worth a late first or early second on his own, throwing him in as a sweetener is gross mismanagement, hopefully that doesn’t happen! |

If that’s the logic being used then the two of you are saying a car purchased for $400,000 five years ago is now worth $20.
It’s not a good trade proposal and a GM with any amount of respectability would never never pull the trigger on it. |
|

Ottawa have - 3 1st rounders, 4 2nds and 2 3rds.
I'd love to pry Batherson or Duclair from them too |

Didn’t their GM say he’s looking to move picks for young nhl players? |

I wish I remembered the name but Benning did say someone in the organization is already in charge of scouting. |
