I think they need him until they get a winger that proves he’s ready for NHL competition, I don’t think any of the kids are there yet. Maybe one of them will prove it in camp? - Pacificgem
I heard the talks for Marky and Toffoli are lukewarm . You may get your wish.
Benning and Green doing a zoom conference at noon on Zoom. SN will cover it. State of the union address I guess.

I think I’ll pass, I can’t stand listening to Benning try and fumble his way through a press conference |

With a lack of centre depth in this organization, I don't see Sutter or Beagle being moved, unless they dip into free agency and find a cheap 4th line centre.
Is Graovac good enough? The Canucks have 5 centres, not counting Costmar and Focht, so it will be status quo at centre, unless Gaudette//Virtanen brings back another centre. - Reubenkincade
I liked your idea last night about trading for TB Center & Dman . If Canucks could pull that off and then turn around and pull off Andersson and Johnsson out of TO they would be set for a couple of years. |

Same. Teams like guys like Roussel, and I'm sure even Montreal would give up one of their 40 picks for him.
Sutter I see as having value. It might cost a little to help lube a trade, but it would be minimal. Something like Sutter and a 3rd for a 4th.
LE is a whole other issue. Vantel said buyout, which provides like 500k cap relief this year, but 2.3 next and then only costs the team 600k the next two. Not ideal, but also not giving up any assets to move him. - NewYorkNuck
Something around JV ++ for Domi and adding in Sutter for cap and sending a C back their way. Make Domi our 3c.
Miller- EP - X(Toffoli?)
Hogger - Bo - Boeser
Pearson - Domi - Gaudette |

I think Pearson is a great fit for Bo right now. Not sure about extending him, but only has one more year left on his deal. If the Canucks take a step back and aren't near the bubble come TDL, he'd be a great trade chip that could potentially fetch a first. At that time Podkolzin will be coming over too... |

Domi's going to be getting 5-6 mill-ish. You want that tied up in your 3C? I like Domi, but have soured a bit on him demanding to play center (apparently). I think he would be a great fit with Bo |

Agents talking to Dhaliwal. He says Marky not close. No home town discount for Tanev. We will get around to talk about Toffoli deal one day

I wonder if this might be a consideration with Marky and Demko. Resign Markstrom and then when the expansion draft comes, protect Demko. Will Seattle take a 31 year old goaltender at full price, when there will be a lot of other younger goalies available? Worst case scenario, if they do take him, it opens up some cap space and Demko will be a year older. There are several flaws with this idea but with a compressed schedule next year, we are going to need two strong goalies. This also assumes that Jacob would agree to a deal without a no movement clause. What do you think? |

I am ok spending 5-6m for a 2c to play 3c. You can save on your first and/or second line by having guys on ELC's that can play a role on that line. Everyone wants a stronger top 9 and to be deeper, but don't want to pay for it. Look at any team and they have at least 1 3rd liner making 4+ and many teams have 6 top 6 players making 5+. |

I really don’t get what people see in Podkolzin, he looks like a bull in a china shop North/South winger, he’s Leo Komarov basically. |

I know everyone says it but it doesn't mean it is the obvious.
I think Loui has a 25 % chance of being sent to Utica and bring in Hoglander. 25 % chance he is a Canuck . 25 % chance traded with an asset . 25 % Bought out that gives Canucks 2.6 mil relief this year.
I don't think Sutter is going anywhere .
Point is we have to wait and see what Jim does.
More than a few people have said go with Demko and don't bring back Toffoli. If Canucks go that route they have very little shopping to do this off season. - VANTEL
Demko played 3 great games, he needs more time as a backup/1b. Toffoli was great and should be brought back unless he prices himself out. |

I’m of the opinion both Markstrom and Toffoli will cash in, and it won’t be with the Canucks. |

I'm willing to gamble a bit on the goalie situation and disagree. Demko has more regular season games than Matt Murray or Binnington when their playoff performances led them to being anointed the number 1's for their team. Granted, I was never a fan of either of those guys and Demko's regular season numbers were so-so to this point but I see Demko as needing to take at least a 50/50 split in the role going forward if there is to be improvement.
Caveat to it all, if Canucks plan to keep Markstrom until DiPietro is ready instead, well then I care less about Demko's development and he can be a reliable backup |

I think he needs more starts overall, but I don't know if the team will want to bank on him as starter should they make playoffs next year. |

If they move on from Markstrom, I think there is an abundance of goalies available that I would look at bringing in to compete with Demko, so to not simply hand him the job. Aside from the UFA's I've read some pieces on a few teams looking to trade so they can make runs for others |

Personally having watched the last 2 seasons and the quality of goaltending the team has gotten, I'm just of the opinion why change what's working so well? |

My issue with Demko has always been his confidence. I thought he always had the skills but never trusted his head. That is why his nerves got to him at the beginning or end of the game.
I think he just took a big step. He also won his last game of the regular season . He looked great then too. |
