Agree with everything, except Tanev.
Such a good partner for Hughes (on and off the ice), i'd be surprised if they walk away from him. - dbot
Jim didn't talk about Tanev at all but he did mention Chatfield. Tanev has averaged 50 games a year so they might go in a different direction. |

He didn't talk Tanev, because it's a given.
i'm stoked to see OJ next year.
i'm fairly lukewarm on the other D prospects including Chatfield, Saunter, Briesbois, etc. |

Hard to let go.
I think all year everyone has talked about upgrading the RHD second line. Unfortunately that is Tanevs spot. |

I must have missed the talk of people wanting to upgrade Tanev.
He had a really good year imo.
Beyond his own metrics, I think his play was what allowed Hughes to flourish as he did.
If Tanev is the 2nd RHD, who is the first? Stetcher?? Cuz that's who i'd like to upgrade.

The armchair gms will be disapointed
Benning said the flat cap was league wide not just a Canuck cap and that they have plenty of cap space for the moves they want to make. Bloody shocking haha - VANTEL

Benning - Tanev is a big part of the heart and soul of our team. If we can get him signed I’d like to get him signed. |

I don't know who wanted to upgrade Tanev, aside from Vantel I think Tanev, like you, is perfect for Hughes. For now, anyways.
I think upgrading from Stetch and having Tanev, Myers, and (Fabbro/Coyle/etc.) would be ideal. |

Armchair GM's will be pissed...cap only really affects the Canucks. Not the 30 other teams. Oh well lol |

Agents talking to Dhaliwal. He says Marky not close. No home town discount for Tanev. We will get around to talk about Toffoli deal one day
Just comments of the agents - VANTEL
RickD was so far off on Boeser and Edler, he wasnt even in the ball park on term or salary. The agents use him to push bullpoop on negotiations. Keep that in mind...

I was reading 2 days ago that Podz is still not getting any PP time this season. No PK... just 5 on 5. Thats unfortunate.

I think more term could soften the cap hit. Probably throw on an extra year to counter the flat cap. Front load the money to reward him. We were discussing 5.5 during the season as a fair starting point iirc. |

I could definitely see him wanting a lot more than that.

It is going to be a JT Miller situation again . I heard Det are in on Cirelli I imagine Buffalo also and maybe 5 other . It will be a bidding war again . TB will walk away with another first. - VANTEL
Everyone believes TB would get squeezed & most thought JB overpaid for Miller. Talent costs & TB will do fine again. |

I would be taking serious look at Cernak, 6'3" 233lbs, RHD. - Reubenkincade
An OS would be worth a try. I like him also. |
