If the core is staying I'd like them to spin the wheels on Granlund and Hoffman.

Adding one fast player isnt going to make a difference so I'd rather they try to add some more overall talent.

How are they going to do that? Flyers are looking at about 8.9M of available cap space. If they trade Gostisbehere, they could add another 4.5M to that. If they don't have to take any salary back. Hoffman and Granlund are going to cost over 10M to sign. Most likely closer to 12M or more. Flyers would still have to add a defenseman if they aren't going to bring Braun back. Plus add a backup goalie, and re-sign some forwards. Awful tight there.

It is absolutely self inflicted.

Except you are neglecting one fact. You dont just wake up one day with an addiction. You choose to abuse a substance to the point you become reliant on it. Lindblom didnt choose to get Cancer. Ryan chose to abuse Alcohol. Its a self inflicted disease.

Life is unfair and life sucks. We choose how we deal with it. Even depression. My doctor has diagnosed me with depression, I have not abused any substances to cope.

Your way of thinking about this is not correct and is in general a factor in why there is a stigma regarding substance abuse and mental health problem and why it is often hard for people suffering With these diseases to get proper care.

Many people are born destined to become addicts just as many are born to become diabetics.
