Agreed.
FACK trading down.
Rarely works out for the leafs.

I like the Sandin trade down...

If your guy is projected to be picked 10 picks later than recoup assets in the process.

Askarov will be gone by pick #15 IMO. So the next goalie is expeted to go in round 3
(Jan Bednar). Georgiev is low hanging fruit, after the Leafs trade Andersen, they should get Georgiev. Unless Lundqvist retires, Rangers will probably move Georgiev.

Who do you think grabs Askarov before 15? I mean I am not sure the Leafs take him anyways, maybe Schneider is their target. But we poop the bed after Rask was dealt be nice to have a legit goalie prospect with #1 potential

Agree as well. Better have 1-3 players you really want to move down

I don't think so.

Not a whole lot of upside compared to others around him and he is slow.

So far so good.
But it was moving from 25 to 29 to pick a guy that may have not been selected in the first round.
Not moving out of the top 15.
A second time for the same draft.

Sanderson shouldn't make it to the Leafs pick.

Edit: Then again, I was saying the same thing about Caufield last season for the Habs and well... surprises happen.

Guhle would be a good choice.

Either Nashville or Carolina, and I think the Leafs like Guhle more than Schneider. The 6th pick would be a great get if Dubas can get it. If Drysdale is available its a no brainer otherwise Askarov. If the Leafs can get a late first rounder, I would love to see them pick up Shakir Mukhamadullin. The name will need two lines to fit on the jersey and he's a big mean defender that can skate.

Might be able to trade down a few spots to get Guhle.

I don't have much interest in Schnieder, let some other team draft the future 5-6 D man.

Depends.

Guhle is projected to go around 22 on mynhldraft.ca

I'd trade down to 19/20 for him.

I was looking at that a lot when I thought the Isles pick would be around 20 (hoping he'd slip).

I think the 3 teams that could grab him before 15 would be:

- buffalo reaching at 8
- Carolina at 13
- Edmonton at 14

just my opinion, but I think the leafs best option at 15 would be Guhle, kid looks REALLY good. big, can put up points but excels in the defensive end, lots of comparisons to Parayko.

For what it's worth, anything after #12 looks like a crapshoot to me. Plenty of players similar talentwise in there, just gotta go with the one you like better for some reason or on your team's needs.

Personally, I'm hoping the Habs draft Perreault or swing for a homerun with Hendrix Lapierre (if the medical staff thinks the concussions won't be a problem at least).

I've seen him projected at 16-17 in a few "mock draft" sites......I was expecting, had Ottawa gotten the 20th or 21st pick from the isles, that they would have had to trade up to get him.

He's an intersting prospect, two reasons I would take Shakir Mukhamadullin ahead of Powell.
1) Leafs already have enough 🦐 on the team
2) I want to hear Hughson mis-pronounce his name 10 times or more a game

I’m ok with moving Freddie but we’re sure we can get somebody better for same price or as good for less?

Agree is the goalie isn't there at 15, there is a few solid D options. I like Guhle as well. Hoping Leafs can find a way to grab another first

There are bound to be 3 or 4 decent options available if and when Freddie is traded.
Georgiev, Greiss, MAF and Crawford all might be on different teams next season

That'd be great.
