holl was given a $2m x 3 deal at 28 after 52 games in the nhl.
seems pretty rich for a guy like that. - Tumbleweed
Let's be honest, Toronto's the only market where 2 million is a big overpay for a Justin Holl. |

Contrary to popular belief, the Canes actually do this to their goalies several times per game.
the defense is pretty aggressive, which leads to some ugly breakdowns sometimes. |

Freddy had the same #s and same struggles in the playoffs with Anaheim as he does Toronto. He's 31. He is what he is at this point.

Rielly - Muzzin - Dermott - Holl - Sandin - Liljegren - Lehtonen.
seems like most of Leafs' D for next season is set - with the obvious lack of that 1st pairing - d-man that can pair up with Rielly.
Rielly -- ??
Muzzin -- Dermott
Sandin -- Holl
7th: Liljegren / Lehtonen.
the issue with leafs is team-d , starting with FWs.
too many floating wingers, and Leafs need a #3C.
Get rid of Nylander, Johnsson, Kerfoot -- and instantly team defense is better.
Hyman - Tavares - Marner
?? -- Matthews -- Mikheyev
Robertson -- ?? -- ??
Engvall -- ?? -- ??
13th/14th: Barabanov, Gauthier
in short - Leafs' lineup needs more work on FW than on Defense. - MaximusAurelius
I like kerfoot, not sure why people hate on him.
Is it because of salary?
I dont see how instantly team defense would be better moving them unless we are getting some defensive forwards and a D back.
But then we lose scoring depth. |

I agree. But is that saying much? Is that saying we extend him until his late 30's and give him a raise?

there's almost literally no way this happens unless something more than Andersen is coming back.
I like him and all, but the gap between a .915 goaltending and .908 goaltending doesn't seem like a big enough difference to trade a guy like Pesce. - BINGO!
andersen would look real good behind the canes defenders/team defensive play.
he seems more suited to do well on a structured team. |

Your thoughts on him?
Is he really what the leafs need? |

Kerfoot gets hate because he came in a deal for Kadri. Some people feel he's completely inferior to Kadri and view him only as such.
Kerfoot is actually pretty decent for a reasonable cap hit.
Some fans aren't happy unless their team is underpaid and over performing ALL the time.

Pesce would be a great D-partner with Rielly. I would be happy if we could do a Johnsson and Andersen for Pesce and Mrazek trade. |

I like Kerfoot, he can chip in offensively and is responsible in his own zone... Just wish he didn't get knocked off the puck so easily at times |

Average speed, reasonably physical, but has good instincts and will get the puck up and out quick.
Had a bit of a down year this year because of bouncing all over the lineup, but he's a legit #3/4 shutdown guy. |

Or, conversely, your opinion on the goaltending is bad because of the false light you hold the team in front of him in. |

The Leafs should target Seth Jones, since he is better than Pesce |
