Even if Crawford stays, he hasn't been healthy lately.. Andersen/Crawford is a decent 1-2 punch
- PatC80

I’m good with rolling with a 1a 1b goalies. I don’t think the leafs need a sure number 1 starter but someone who could share the net with Campbell and see what he can do with a longer leash.

I'm not going to go all Santo but even us modest hockey dummies know Pesce has great value right? Big, young, good skater, excellent in his own zone, top 4 RHD on a 4 x 4 contract. Am I off on his scouting report?

Purrrrfect for the Leafs but also purrrrfect for 30 other teams (including the Canes).

- The Law

Pesce had a horrible year last year and looked bad after his knee injury.

The Canes overrate him so its a no go.

Crawford already mentioned he wants to be a #1 goaltender.

Not sure he'd consider playing backup for Andersen unless the idea is 50/50.

- Scabeh

I think guys are going to need to deal with the league moving to 55-32 splits.

they have Lankinen, Subban and Delia.
Crawford is signing at 3mln AAV since Chi might be the only team interested in him, and they don't even really need him.

Oh we're dealing with it with 15 million dollars.

We're aware.

But even with such a split, goaltenders will want to be "the guy" for the big games and the playoffs.

And the Toronto's hot dog industry could finally recover from the loss of Phil Kessel.

Buf would probably be better off with the Habs. The Montreal Pool Room is close by.

lol what?

Positive possession numbers, 21 minutes per night... He was fine? I don't know what you're watching.

Also he missed 9 games with a knee injury in November 2018... there was no noticeable drop in his play in that season.

Vegas is pretty tight with the cap, worse than the leafs atm

https://puckpedia.com/teams

they need to make some magic happen. Teams should really not help good teams out of bad spots.

- senstroll

Meh

Dubas helped them out with Lehner...They are a team out West and its good to build relationships like that.

If it helps the Leafs and the Knights out why not?

Ideally, the Leafs can bring in someone that is better than Campbell and can split starts.. I like the idea of adding Georgiev.

Leafs games.

We don't know sh!t about other teams' players. It's why I got (frank)ing blind sided by the disaster that was Barrie.

Campbell is already unproven with potential.

Need a sure thing.

He was a high draft pick who looked good last year for the leafs. Not sure what the big deal in seeing what he can do with some more games.

Goalies can take longer to develop. Everyone is drooling over lehner who 2/3 years ago was almost done.

For what it's worth, I think an Andersen/Campbell tandem is just fine.

But hey, what do I know?

Might be the only place where he'll be in the running to be a #1 goaltender.

Crawford at 3.5M is fine but you can't rely on him to stay healthy over a whole season... he'll need another good goaltender backing him up.

- Scabeh

The same article said they have a kid who's ready to make the jump to splitting some time.

Can't see Crawford plus Andersen happening.

Yeah last year wasn't a good year for him, largely because they kept switching what side of the ice he was playing on. His usage was a jumbled mess most of the year.

He wasn't spectacular, but was still fine. Certainly not "Horrible."

Santo only watches the Leafs(per his own admission), hasn't seen a hockey game in his life outside of that.
So take his opinions with a bag of salt..
(hence the absurd trade 'ideas')

I expected the defensive train wreck.

I did expect him to score more though.
