Leafs games.
We don't know sh!t about other teams' players. It's why I got (frank)ing blind sided by the disaster that was Barrie. - Leafs43
This.
Oh my God this.
I haven't watched a western conference regular season game in a decade. |

For what it's worth, I think an Andersen/Campbell tandem is just fine.
But hey, what do I know? - Scabeh
It could have been, but goals from behind the icing line seem to go in on Andersen relatively easily. |

Santo only watches the Leafs(per his own admission), hasn't seen a hockey game in his life outside of that.
So take his opinions with a bag of salt..

Unlike Joseph Woll who is overrated by pretend Doctors who pretend to be Leafs fans. - Leafs43
Joseph Woll will be an excellent starting goalie for the Leafs soon, and for next 10 years. |

Yeah last year wasn't a good year for him, largely because they kept switching what side of the ice he was playing on. His usage was a jumbled mess most of the year.
He wasn't spectacular, but was still fine. Certainly not "Horrible." - BINGO!
I could be wrong, but wasn't he paired with Jake Gardiner for a while as well? |

I did expect him to score more though. - Scabeh
pretty much. I thought he'd be better at skating the puck out of trouble but he didn't seem to push the puck up the ice with his feet the way I thought he would. |

i was surprised by how ineffective Barrie was. - BINGO!
Me too.
I'm sure he will go somewhere and be a good offensive defenseman again. But damn, the fact some people were saying he was an 8 million x 7 years defenseman when he came here is (frank)ing insane.

Barrie was really good at skating into trouble and then skating away from the play after losing possession of the puck.. |

Pesce had a horrible year last year and looked bad after his knee injury.

Of course they are.
The Leafs have the pieces to make those moves, its about if they are willing to do them which as fans we don't know. |

That and he was awful in his own end. He was pretty much a 4th forward with how ineffective he was at defence. |

Doing rough, back of the envelope math:
Andersen had 65 points (29-13-7) in 52 games.
Campbell had 7 points (3-2-1) in 6 games.
Extrapolated over an 82 game season, that's 102 points.
Then allow me to add some blue-koolaid factors:
They played much better post-Babs.
Rielly and Muzzin injuries.
The goaltending wasn't the problem - same as against Columbus. |

Ya, and Muzzin has a 50/50 shot of never playing in the NHL again.
I honestly hope you're right. But I know that you just make sh!t up based on (frank)ing nothing and then run with it.

Just for fun, how is a trade for Ekblad realistic?
Florida already has a terrible defense overall and they'd trade away their young stud #1 defenseman for something the Leafs can give them? More offense?

I agree with this.
Goaltending isn't the Leafs main issue. It hasn't been their main issue since Andersen was acquired.

Freddy hasn't helped in the games where the Leafs get the most flack for...and he is going to be 32 when he needs a new deal.
I don't want to wait knowing how many good goalies are available this offseason. |
