Agree...some owners, like the Avalanche or the LA Kings owners, are some of the richest people in the world, he could return to LA if Blake wants him.

Kings just let him walk so I don't see them saying come back to a long term lucrative contract. If they liked him that much they wouldn't have let him go IMO

Avs have to worry about Landeskog and Makar next year with the flat cap.

Then the problems sorted, give Hog a chance. Being rich is not the issue here, it's the ability to run a viable business during this pandemic. If there's owners that are willing to throw stupid money & term out there, let them do it.

Kings wanted a prospect and a good pick, both of which they got, and they can re-sign him on top of it. That’s great asset management.

Kings = prospect, 2nd round pick, Toffoli

Canucks = nothing

He has done bad deals, he needs to find a way to get out of some of those bad contracts. Not easy to do.

But bringing him back for a lot of money and long term is not a good move. You said it yourself he is slow.

As was reported a few days ago, at least 17 teams were cutting payroll of employees and many of those same teams were wanting to get their cap in the 70-75million range, because of this, I don't expect to see many really expensive, nor longterm deals handed out.
I believe it was Bob MacKenzie who also reported that several teams are concerned that it may take 5 years to recover from this.

It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out, I just don’t think they’ll take team friendly deals, they’ll test the market to see what’s out there, if it’s not to their liking then maybe.

Then why do people want to re-sign him? LA is the one place I could see him taking less money due to family circumstances.

The season is supposed to start in Dec. It will probably be bubble hockey again. Give some thought to Bubble Hockey revenue vs Gate revenue.

Off topic, but just heading up to Renny for an overnight. The Northern's have been poking around the mouth. Starting to show pretty good around Secretary as well. FYI

Horvat said bubble hockey was hard, he probably wouldn’t do it again.
