You do not want to admin the Isles have holes and they get exposed against a team like Tampa. Tampa is another level up from Philly or the Caps.

And ??? Is it a best of 3 ? We lost 8-2, and now lost 2-1 in a game we dominated. This is going to be a test of attrition for each team. Our pp sucks, and that's huge. If that changes with some luck, the game changes

I thought they played a great game, aside from not taking shots when they had them. Completely shut down their PP and limited most quality shots other than the GWG. Win next game and they’re still in only down 2-1. Lose it and no doubt done.

Give Tampa for their PK too. Tampa needs 2 more to take it.

That’s part of what quantifies the islanders playing a good game for me. They also were pretty terrible in the 3rd imo against a team with a shortened bench.

They definitely are. That said, IMO, Tampa didn't win this game, the Isles lost it. The Isles are clearly over-finessing their game offensively. They were unquestionably the better team tonight and even before Point went out were winning most of the battles.
Let's just hope they show a bit more desperation in their offensive game and start throwing more rubber

You have to recognize a must win and the Isles were passing the puck around like it was a preseason game. Isles had everything going to win this game and blew it.

It hurts, no doubt. I'll look at it as a conventional playoff series. Tampa won the first two 'home' games. Isles need to take the next two. If they don't, we'll likely look back on this one first

Thats the defensive game they needed to play but they had nothing on the rush like previous series. Tampas stars came through, Norris nominee, vezna winner and art ross winner

The islanders scorers have to score. In order to do that they have to shoot which they refuse to do. That 5 on 3 was a complete joke watching them pass along the perimeter for the entire 38 seconds of it. Honestly if I were trotz I’d sit Eberle and throw mdc in there (frank) it.
