With Dermott, it's not that he is bad, it's just that with Rielly, Muzin and Sandin on the left side, Dermott may be expendable now. I think he is too good to be a 7th d-man

That seems high for someone who has never hit 20pts.
Now I say, not really having watched his game closely. If he earned 1.6 last year and warrants a raise, maybe low 3's.
But it looks like he has never completed a full season yet either, most was 64 games. Not sure if that was injury related or not.

Either way its two really good players and I don't think its laughable for either side to have it go 1 for 1 but I'd hope the Leafs would get a pick out of it.

Rielly might be the best D in the NHL at driving play...mediocre at D.

Easily, look at what he was able to accomplish with Hainsey. This guy deserves for the leafs to go spend assets if they need to in order to get him a young partner capable of allowing him to play his game.

Honestly, any trade involving Willie, I would want a more impactful Dman than Sanheim, one that mainly plays the right side.
