Red Wings have a second luxury in not needing to sign any big RFA's this year. You could grab a guy like Kessel from Arizona and get retention or a decent prospect or if you need a dman go to them for Goligoski and take the cap hit to get something from them.

I do not envy Arizona as they need their picks/prospects but also need to use them to move the cap hits.

Before my time. But the Red Wings once had Terry Sawchuk and Glenn Hall. 2 of the best goalies of all time. Now we have Mandela Bernier and some version of Mike Smith to be signed later.

I met Sawchuk at summer hockey school. He signaled me out and taught me some skating exercises to strengthen my stride. Wow, did I surpise my friends in a pick-up game that fall with my improved skating!

MAF has only a 10 team no-trade list, 6-7 of those are probably Canadian teams because of the higher taxes. There is a chance here!

Holland protected his baby boy All Sieve Jimmy Howard in the Expansion draft and exposed Mrazek. Vegas took Nosek. Holland traded Mrazek to Philly for peanuts.

I don't know what Yzerman thinks about Mrazek. He could do worse. Mrazek will make great saves one minute and then cheat harder than the Houston Astros giving up easy goals the next. We know who he is. Mrazek only looked decent playing behind an excellent Carolina D. He'd get bombed in Detroit facing more rubber than Jenna Jameson.

I dunno man when he gets a ton of shots and can keep his head in the game the dude can pull of miracles. It's when the team actually plays well in front of him he seems to fall asleep and then gives up weird, wild goals.

Well as the Leafs are my second favorite team... I don’t think there should be any focus until that is taken care of... all this other stuff is just noise.

Take that 15th pick, bundle it with some players and go get 2 real defenseman.
One who can play with Rielly, And the other one who can really solidify a second pair.

Everything else will take care of itself.
