I don't know but the Flyers are the losers that's for sure.

So, that would make them Calgary.. That's what we want. Trade Leeman Nylander in a package to get Carter Hart

4x4.5-5M?

I think that’s good for the Leafs.

- Santo_44

My napkin numbers for the next two years have the Leafs needing a 'tender making no more then 4 million. Unless they're prepared to go really thin up front behind the Big 4.

How about a trade for Demko though?

Simmonds is exactly what the leafs need need. sign him to a cheap spezza like deal and maybe you can squeeze in jumbo on a one year too. Can you say second round of playoffs.

There’s going to be lots of guys to choose from. Why would we put Simmonds ahead of Maroon or Perry or Jumbo Joe?

4-5 I would think.

Campbell won’t be here the entire contract being a back up IMO.

Think Woll or Scott will eventually take those duties.

If he wants to live close to his home bad enough and takes 500K less than those other guys.

I don’t think he comes within $500K of those guys.

It'd be squishy but might work.

I like Hyman so I'm budgeting 4.5'ish for him next summer. Add in Rielly's new partner and ideally the Leafs find a young starter at a number like Korpisalo's.

There's going to be a sea of older players looking for 1-year contracts.

I'm guessing it's going to be a short season, with a huge payback from the players on escrow, so I expect a lot of guys to be signing 1-year contracts based upon where they want to be, more than what they want to make.

If there is a season.

I’m just saying there’s lots to choose from and it’s cools that Simmonds wants to play here and maybe there’s a spot but I think there’s just this automatic response to what he was. Power forwards don’t age well. Joe doesn’t have to skate fast to be an elite passer.

ewww.

but the reality is, the nhl is not a $4B league anymore.

the players are not immune to the economic downturn either.

Ya for sure. They were really really quick to sign a new 6 yr CBA when they realized they were looking at 30-40% escrow for 2 years.

He was asked by a Toronto-based reporter if he would like to play in Toronto, and he gave a polite answer.

It means nothing.

He may really want to play here, he may want nothing to do with us.

But what he said is totally irrelevant.

Just like what every athlete says about playing in every city in the world.

So here's the big question:

Do AHL players get paid if there is no season?

What if I told you you could have a goaltender who had a .914 save percentage last season (and for his career) and has posted a .925 sv% in the playoffs, costing only $3.4 million per year, with one year left under contract!

Lisa: Dad, what if I told you you could lose weight without dieting or lifting a finger?

Homer: I'd say you're a lying scumbag, why sweety?

Lisa: Arcording to Eternity Magazine, you can lose weight through subliminal learning. That's where an idea is subtly implanted in your head without you even knowing it.

Homer: Oh Lisa, that's a load of rich creamery butter.
