Yes he was, I just never thought of him as a Flyer great over our 53 year history. Just a bit surprising.

True, hopefully Hart is here for the next ten years and they continue to draft and develop goaltender’s.

Yeah we have had some great talent come through. But he’s played a shutdown role since he was 18. Right now I think he’d be on my 4 th line all time team. Maybe third by the end of his career. And has been good at shutting down the best the whole time. Last couple seasons he has had better wingers and his skill can show. Back to back 96 point seasons before draft. But I will admit I’ve always been a big fan of his game.

I never understood the hate on Mason. He kept us in a hell of a lot of games we had no business in over the years. Look at the teams we iced in front of him. Nothing special to say the least.
I was at a game against the Islanders in 2014 where he made 46-saves and was the only reason the Flyers had a chance. The rest of the team phoned it in that night, and they ended up losing 1-0 in the shootout.
If I remember correctly, I think his play went downhill when the Flyers fired the goalie coach he was close to? I may be remembering this wrong, so someone can please correct me if that's not the case.

His play definitely veered off towards the end. I still don’t know what happened with the coaching change but Mason did himself no favors by complaining to the media that he felt he should still be the starter even when he’s struggling. Either way he barely lasted in the league after leaving here. It was time.

Coots won in a landslide.

117 1st place votes (four 5th place votes....some guys shouldn't have the privilege of voting it seems)

Bergeron 21 first place votes

O'Reilly 11 first place votes.

I'm glad Coots won, but I feel like we won just to jack up his salary next contract. I find it hard to believe we won an award outright, albeit deserving.

I'm kind of shocked Coots won. I thought if he were going to win it, it would have been last year. I'm glad though, because the Selke Trophy seems to be one of those reputation awards, and that it would just get awarded to Bergeron or whoever else wasnt named Couturier.

Even when we win awards we find reasons to complain. Do you expect any less from this fanbase.

So we are selling high on Coots now right?

Maybe Parise? Lucic? B.Ryan?
