centers, I'm talking centers
but if you want to compare Danault with Point and Stone, I'm sure his agent would hire you on the spot - fidopro

It was your argument. Not my fault it's full of obvious holes. I'm on the keep Danault side. I also like facts and trying to have a rational discussion based on them but in fairness it's my fault for coming to the internet for that |

because everyone knows the #1 priority for a 3rd line center is to score goals.
what was I thinking.
lets' put both of them on the market, and see what the return is for each.

Normal? He tried to dictate his use in a contract year through the media...
People are going on about Domi not wanting to play the wing, he never said it publicly himself but everyone sh!ts on him because someone said that he might of said he prefers C - obie
Danault is always team-first on the ice, but has once said to the media that he's not interested in a 3rd line C role.
Domi never said anything in the media about his usage, but has been playing selfishly many, many times in his 2 seasons with the club, even costing a few games.
We'll keep Danault and trade Domi+ for scoring help and you will like it. |

Take the Habs out of this and let me know your opinion on this:
How does a team trading for Danault view him? Are they bringing in a top 6 C or a 3rd line C?

depends on the team. PIT would see him as a #3C. WPG would see him as a #2C.
as for Domi, no team can see him as a #3C imo. so it's either #2C or LW.

Ok, so based on that, would you agree that the intended role a player is expected to play will impact the amount a team is willing to give up in a trade? If you agree, would that not, in theory, make the younger top 6 guy in Domi more valuable in terms of trade value than the older middle 6 guy in Danault? |

of course, we could expect a much better return from WPG than from PIT.
and no. imo Danault has more value than Domi. period. even if he is older.
Danault is one of the best defensive center in the league, and can produce his fair share of points.
Domi, we never know what we're gonna get. if he was as consistent as Danault, that would be another debate. but he is not.
until he is, it's not even close. |

As I said yesterday beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'd imagine for some GMs Danault holds the greater value. I'd also imagine for others it's Domi. It's a more nuanced issue rather than clear black and white in my eyes |
