As I said yesterday beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'd imagine for some GMs Danault holds the greater value. I'd also imagine for others it's Domi. It's a more nuanced issue rather than clear black and white in my eyes - Takemedrunkimhome
they should be fired on the spot
wait!!!! no!
let's call them first and trade them Domi for a big return
you have any names? |

quick question for you, for other GMs like you say, which one holds the greater value, Drouin or Gallagher? |

I'd imagine Gallagher for the majority. I've said many times Drouin is an enigma to me so trying to value him is challenging. He has moments that are amazing. He has many more moments he's infuriating. His talent is off the charts. His hockey IQ or concentration or even "heart" at times are brutal. Age, skill and contract be damned Gallagher is awesome, if healthy a lock for 30+, gets in the other team's heads, can play effectively in all situations, has amazing leadership, willing to get his ass kicked to make an impact. Gallagher all day from me |

exactly.
now replace Drouin by Domi and Gallagher by Danault in the previous post. (goals stats aside) |

Danault isn't Gallagher and Domi isn't Drouin. There is more nuance to it and assuming 31 GMs see Domi and Danault exactly the same way I'd find to be unlikely |

Remember when we had no centers to trade, let alone picking one of 2 centers to trade.
Despite poor results, I miss those days now.... |

Domi had a better season playing center it seems...
So,
Suzuki
Domi
Kotkaniemi
Fingers crossed Kotkaniemi and Domi really step up their game in their own zone? |

Domi is a headcase that can't play defence or win face offs.
Danault offers protection if KK or Suzuki do not step up. |

Problem is, we don't know what he wants to do.
If Danault told Bergevin he intends to test the market after this season, do you still keep him? |

There are very few players that are going to sign big dollar contracts over the next few years because of the cap crunch (flat cap, plus TSN reports lots of teams are going to be playing below the cap, if they can, until revenue flow comes back).
Danault is not one of those players.
If he wants to leave, he will leave, but I doubt he gets a better deal elsewhere.

No.
You trade him.
He's not the kind of asset we can afford to lose for nothing.
This being said, I'd rather we keep him at 5.5M for the next 6 years.

it would be pretty sad if he walked away for a difference of 500K, I agree other teams probably won't be throwing tons of money at him either
