Congrats to coots. He spent a lot of his youth in my home province and I think that this is the first major nhl award That any player from NB has won. Very proud of him on several fronts.

Any thoughts on Eks Nylander for Sanheim rumor?

Any thoughts on Eks Nylander for Sanheim rumor?
- DrMidnite

Interesting but I’d want more than nylander. He’s skilled but comes up small a lot and I think he’d be useless come playoffs. Sanheim just finished his first playoffs and although there were struggles I see a big upside. Not ready to cut bait on him yet.

Now for ghost, maybe. I hate selling low on him but I Think he’s done here.

I know some people werent thrilled with Chuck’s update in Nolan Patrick. But if he’s golfing in day light, wouldn’t that suggest light sensitivity isn’t triggering migraines potentially? Few times this year when he skated during practices he wore a tinted shield. Not a doctor and not trying to play one.

I am not sure I really want Nylander. Also I don't see Sanheim being moved for him. He's got a 6.9 mil cap hit. Plus I would want the 1st rounder Pitt just gave them. In my eyes they need to clear cap and defense more then the Flyers need Nylander.

If your telling me I am moving Sanheim, which I don't think they should, I would rather try to get someone like Ehljers from the Jets.

I still think managing this as a professional hockey player is dubious.

We'll see though.

Yup. No chance. Leafs are looking for a RH defenseman, Flyers don't have a viable 3D if they trade Sanheim (plus Niskanen is a year away from UFA). And Nylander's contract is very expensive.

Just looking at some team needs, does it seem like Gostisbehere and Domi are perfect for the "trade for both guys to get new starts" type of deal? Not sure straight up but doesn't it seem like it would work.

Congrats to Coots! Could have easily won this in previous years, but I'm glad he's finally been recognized for the great 2-way player he is.
I liked most of what Fletch had to say. He seems to have a good grasp of where the team is and what needs improvement. I don't see any big trades coming unless something is too good to pass up due to the flat cap. Sounds like he has faith in the guys coming up through the system, but would like to add some defensive depth. Makes you wonder if Braun will be sticking around or not. I think he ends up staying.
Fingers crossed on Patrick. Having him and Lindblom back would be a huge boost to our forward depth.

Not really. Habs have Weber and Petry, who are better overall

I would let Braun walk and consider trading Ghost but overall, I wouldn’t even touch our defense.

Bill Does the GM go the free agent route to address the bottom 6 or will he give internal options a chance?

Did you get a sense on which way he may go?

I really believe our 3C is on the team right now....or I thought that.

Reading into a lot of what Fletcher said and the fact Frost didn’t even appear AT ALL in the round robin points to the fact the Flyers brass aren’t high on him, no matter how high pundits and fans are. Add that to the uncertainty of Patrick.

If Fletcher still thinks Patrick is possible, it wouldn’t surprise me to add Frost to a package with Ghost to attain an immediate impact asset on the wing or back end. If Patrick seems less possible, maybe they do the same for a guaranteed 2/3C?

Have to let Braun walk. He served his purpose. If you want a vet there will be other options. Braun will also want a multi year deal. Not something I want to tie up in bottom pair guy.

Quote not working for me, but I wouldn’t touch our defense either minus dangling Ghost. Provy/nisky, Sanheim/Myers ? /Hagg .

What’s the status of Morin? Could Zamula crack the line up? Is Friedman a guy who can make a club for the full seasons? With college sports uncertainty, does Cam York sign sooner?

They want Frost to add muscle. No more, no less. The rest will come with experience. I personally think they should experiment with him on a wing.

I think they'd like to see what Sandin and Laczynski can bring. If the price is right (no more than his current $1M), could see them resigning Pitlick or making a trade.

I wonder if Grant could be an option if contract is pretty cheap. Can play wing or center or possibly 4c if patrick is healthy. I didn't like his pplayoffs but he was solid when he first came over.

I think you could see frost moved to wing.

Bill,

Don't you think he might have too. If all are healthy, your most likely to see Couturier, Hayes and Patrick down the middle.
