Seems to me many Calgary players had a down season compared to the last few....Monohan, Johnny, Giordano, more? (Too lazy to really investigate it).

I watched the Flames I think 7-8 times. But I'd be willing to bet the Flames blogger watched almost, if not, all of the games. So I'm pretty sure I can trust his opinion a little more.

Giordano. Good defensman. Really good still. In decline. A risky contract to trade for. Flames take celery or 2M back, he'd be excellent in Buffalo. He no doubt has 2 years left.

Welp, at $6.75 for 2 years and being 36 yo, for a LhD; $2m held is low by a out $1m more IMO.
If he were a RhD I'd be ok to try him next to Dahlin....but he isn't. I'd spend the Cap elsewhere.

Was just a mock trade idea that served its purpose as it stimulated conversation.

You wouldn't take Gio for 4.75 for 2 years? Clearly not the only move the team would make. What if it was Montour for Gio with 2M shaved off?

We need a real 2C more than anything else. That should be Kim's/Adam's focus.

I’d hate to give up 8th OA for Monahan.

However if we can acquire him with a combination of other assets I wouldn’t mind it.
